Hi Patrons, as you can see on the picture in attachment, the future episode 17 is taking shape. Description of the three steps; from top to bottom:
1. Pencil step: I made my pencil step knowing all the lines will disappear totally under the 'painting' step. So, I took freedom to do little crosshatching, greying areas and not focusing too much on proportions, technique or creating clean lines. I felt a bit like if I was drawing on my sketchbook and that was good to not feel the pressure of doing a 'final final' drawing.
2. Pre-color step:
I put my pencil lines into a layer on the top and I paint under the lines to experiment with various color palette I have in mind. It's a long step because I always try to get an original result with a specific ambiance for every single panels I color. I'm also managing the continuity of colors from panels to panels on all pages and check if the shading and the color mood is consistent.
3.
Paint-over step:I flatten and merge the 'pre-color' and the 'pencil' layer together to paint on the top. At this step, I take the time to do my best to fix my drawing and shading errors. Then I clean and generate smaller details. I'm trying to not smooth too much every materials and surfaces and I keep expressive paint strokes visible.
And that's all, I hope you'll have a good week!
:-)
