Penciling episode 17

On the picture in attachement, you can see on the top a photo of my desk while penciling the first page. A part of the storyboard of episode 17 is also visible on this photo. Under the photo, I pasted the three first pages as they are today on my disk ( but without speech-bubbles ). The last panel of the picture in attachement shows a scene with the 'Phanda'. This creature was created with the help of the audience during a video livestreaming session recorded nine days ago. I posted a quick debriefing of the livestream on my blog. The future episode 17 will have seven pages and twenty-height panels. It's a format a bit longer than usual. The text and story were reviewed today after fixing three bugs, and the translation effort will start very soon thanks to the very active and friendly translation team.
About the drawing technique, you can see I'm back using a simple pencil on paper to sketch the story. Many recent episodes were created on computer from scratch and that was fine (I even recorded a video timelapse and also published a tutorial about digital inking). For the future episode 17, I just want to change of focus and revisit my digital-painting technique with Krita. So, I try to focus less on creating a clean line-art/drawing ; and more focus on storytelling and I'll fix all the rendering while painting later. Producing sketch like this to finally paint-over and get this type of end result is something on my roadmap for episode 17. I'll show you results and screenshot soon.
