Some Layout and Genga from BullBuster #6

Here are some of my work from the BullBuster anime. There are both Genga and Layout/Rough Genga included, and I think it's a good visualization of the process where a scene is taken from rough to clean.

Take a look at the attachment for more files and some drawings from my directors as well.

Thanks for the info ^_^

The colors used generally differ animator to animator. Some people use different colors like green for the hair instead. As long as the drawing can read clearly that is the most important! There is no set color scheme in a studio generally.

Do studio follow the same colors for the shadows(Fill colors)? and shadow part with clothes and hair they have different colors (blue and Pink), I wonder if these are their default color scheme for shadows?

For shots where you are following a character you can just scale up the BG, but like you said at a point it won't look very good. I forgot if we did it on BullBuster, but for Youjo Senki, we actually used a 3d model for the BG for those shots to make the changing perspective actually match up.

I have a question. In clip studio paint there’s a thing you can do with the frame border thing (idk what it’s called) and key it to make the scene look like it’s moving about. I believe it’s that thing you used in the video of how to make a rotating scene. It’s very useful for making moving backgrounds move side to side or rotating, but what about let’s say a character walking down a street with the camera following the character from the back. The background street effectively zooms in but then that makes the line art stand out. In that case do you have to redraw the backgrounds constantly?

Yep, I'm often inspired by things I see in life and other media and will use that as a basis when drawing movement. I don't generally use a model sheet if it's a one-off and just draw from imagination.

When you practice do you generally pick a motion that you're interested in animating, and then do you use a character sheet, or do you invent your own character?
