The Bad Batch Episode 2x09 * FULL LENGTH REACTION

Some much needed heart to heart.  They still all have so much to learn from each other and about the world.

I have to say, it feels like ships should be able to be locked and made so that 1 person can't just steal them πŸ˜‚

Wrecker and heights, name a more iconic duo.  He seems to always be in situations where heights are involved poor guy.

I like Tech a little bit more, but he's still my least favourite of the batch.

I'm with you, I'm glad that we are getting to learn more about Tech. I never got the impression that he really cared for anyone, but him saying that he does, but just processes things different is a huge help. It gives me a new perspective on him for sure. He is also optimistic because he says that they'll get through this, it's just subtle little pieces of dialogue that helps a lot. Now we need a drunk Tech to see what he'll be like 🀣 I honestly thought I would like Wrecker the least after seeing them in Clone Wars. He seemed like the "funny guy" of the bunch which I usually don't care for. Tech though, with his one liners shifted that "funny guy" part to him which is part of the reason I like him the least. He still has a long way for me to like him like I like the others. Also, since I keep expecting Crosshair to come back to them at some point, Tech will probably remain my least favourite. At the moment I'm irritated with Crosshair, but I just think he's going through a very difficult time where he needs to figure out things.

I like your take on it, and it makes sense too! There are definitely many different ways they could have taken Tech's character development this episode and him saying that he processes things differently is a really nice way to put it.

I like this episode a lot for how much it gives Tech more dimension. I feel like the writers are sort of implying Tech may be on the autism spectrum, hence his line about "Process[ing] things differently, but that does not mean I feel any less" and that definitely reminds me of some of my friends who have ASD. Could be wrong, but I think its cool to represent that behavior.

This season really does its best to build Tech up which is something I was longly asking for during Season 1 because among the first season he was very present and had his funny one liner gags and fact drops which I still enjoyed but not much Limelight or delving into or just character focus in general, this season definitely gave him more character moments that were needed, they explored him a bit in the first 2 episodes of s2 which I definitely noticed right off the bat on first watch because I was like "why does this feel new? have they never focused on Tech's character before??" then I know you weren't a fan of the racing episode but I enjoyed it simply for the Fact that it gave him some much needed limelight then after his heart to heart with Omega this episode my opinion on him definitely skyrocketed as it kinda confirmed a couple assumptions I had about his character and that definitely cleared it up and made me completely understand him more going forward, he may process things different but that doesn't mean he doesn't still feel it any less and his message about change, everyone deals with change differently Omega definitely has a hard time accepting change being young and less exposure to how the galaxy works, and with echo leaving it being the only family she's known where as with Tech it's not that he doesn't care it's just he knows that change is a part of life and he can't control what others do or choose and has to respect it, deal with it and move on, we saw a bit of that on display at the S1 finale with his brief conversation with Crosshair in the tubes. as well as showing a way he always seems cope in distressing times or no matter what goes wrong he relies on the emphasis "this is a setback but we'll get through this somehow, like we always do we'll be alright in the end even if I don't know how yet". The issue was Tech seems to have trouble expressing himself mentally which is why he resorts to being blunt most times, he even struggled to explain it to Omega right there but I'm glad she was able to push it out of him, it was definitely needed for her to understand him and us audience as well πŸ˜‚ While he still may be your least favourite of the batch it definitely helps you get him more and moves him up a couple tiers closer to the others wouldn't you say?
