As far as recaps go I'd say this episode is pretty good. I appreciate that rather than doing a chronological recap, they combine moments from the show using thematic through-lines. It pushes viewers to draw connections between moments that are chronologically distant, like Ed's conversation with Slicer in the laboratory mirroring Al's talk with Scar, or Ed and Scar's brother both sacrificing their arms to save their younger sibling. The additional characterization for Hohenheim is also good, if a little premature.
