Taking One for the Teamsters (Gray Alliance 4 - AE193)

Aaron and Max Arvo explore how Jack Ruby’s Syndicate and Teamster connections were covered up and obscured—first by the Warren Commission and then by the House Select Committee on Assassinations.

This is the fourth part of our Gray Alliance series, an investigation of the Lansky Syndicate-CIA-Mossad threads running through the JFK assassination, Watergate, and beyond!

Special thanks Dana Chavarria for the sound engineering and to Casey Moore for the episode art!

Just the mere fact that Ruby was telling people to stand back and watch the fireworks should make people ask a lot of questions. https://www.cbsnews.com/news/jack-ruby-lee-harvey-oswalds-killer-told-fbi-informant-to-watch-the-fireworks-day-jfk-died-documents/

Yes, and Al Capone was a national celebrity in the 1920's. People knew of the city bosses and especially organized crime outfits like the Chicago mob. It isn't until after WW2 that there is an organized national syndicate so powerful that the Establishment is forced to acknowledge its existence. That's when the ethnic Italian myth replaces the previous commonsensical understanding that there were a bunch of localized competing ethic mobs in various places across the US. That's my understanding of it at least.

Loving the Gray Alliance series, but could I ask, there were lots of 'ganger films' in the 30s. Even if j edgar hoover refused to admit it, organised crime were a popular theme in holywood. I'm not a film expert.Sure there isn't a Italian monopoly (Cagney is Irish in Public Enemy). I guess there's the Capone arrest in the 20s. Isn't the Italian link created in the 20s not the 50s? Or is there a very different interpretation?
