In Ben's defense, he has put out a ton of content week after week which forces one to forgo deeper research. Unlike other podcasters and alternative media people, I spent many years producing scholarship as well as planning and teaching history and social science courses. As such, I don't think any other outfit looks at the history and deep politics of the US Empire like AE. So by my own formulation here, I should expect to be suppressed or otherwise marginalized. But when is this reasonable to suspect as opposed to paranoid or self-serving--while also being self-defeating? Idk, so I try to just keep plugging along and putting out good material.

2024-05-05 19:21:14 +0000 UTCRespectfully, you can hear the difference between Ben wading thru tangled twitter threads, and Aaron studying & contributing to the literature. I realize I’ve been “learning” this material from podcasters who are so inarticulate and meandering that they leave me without the language to convince others. It makes me wonder whether social media algorithms amplify critical voices that are too incoherent to convert the unconvinced.

2022-11-30 23:22:12 +0000 UTCWe had planned to talk about it because it comes from the Eisenhower era...Hungary specifically, and Frank Wisner was involved in both that episode and in the Indonesia Rebellion which for Wisner was a debacle because Dulles set him up to fail. I thought it relevant to the bigger subjects we deal with...
