The World Cup is over

Phew. That took some doing. And we're not even talking about the Australian cricket team, we're talking about the Australian podcasting team - apparently we released 67 episodes during the span of the tournament, with 48 Daily shows and 15 longer episodes covering the Weekly, Story Time, and Adam's re-release of a couple of Greatest Season eps. 

Special congratulations to everyone who played the Discord game of Combat Listening - trying to listen to each episode before the next one appeared - and the 13 players who made it. Anyone waiting for Discord access, we will be getting through Patreon DMs in the next few days so add your message if you haven't yet. 

Some chance the Daily from the final might end up being our most listened to. It's on track. Video is above, and here's the audio.

Now what? We'll take things slightly easier for the next three weeks - because we have a TFW match to play and a live show to write and prepare. Here are tickets for Melbourne and Sydney, while Adelaide logistics are being worked out but it's at The Ark on January 19. We'll look at Perth and Brisbane next year if these shows go well. Do help us fill up those rooms.

And come down to Brunswick Street Oval in Melbourne around 1pm on December 3rd, or Birchrgrove Oval in Sydney on January 26, to cheer on The Mighty Dubs - the Final Word XI.

The Final Word with David Gower

Season 15, Episode 10: David  Gower’s composure at the crease, combined with his perennially relaxed  disposition, have contributed to a sense that he’s forever young. But  it’s now the better of half a century since he pulled his first ball in  Test cricket for four, going on to become, for a time, England’s leading  run-scorer. A life in cricket has been his, but not at the expense of  wider curiosity. It’s what has made him such a force as a broadcaster  since hanging up the boots and, also, how effective he is as the  long-term chair of the Lord’s Taverners. A great guest. Enjoy.

The Final Word Australian homecoming

Season 15, Episode 11: It is a week of homecomings. Adam, Geoff, and the World Cup all arrived  back in Australia within hours of one another, and nothing ever feels  as good as home when you've been away. On the agenda this week: updates  on a lost episode, two short interviews with Mitch Starc and Glenn  Maxwell that Geoff recorded on the field just after the World Cup  finished, there are Final Word live shows and live cricket matches  coming up, the Sea Bus is back in business, Adam Zampa has receipts,  David Warner might not retire after all, the most pointless T20s are  next, our favourite 50-year-old first-class cricketer back at it, and  some very significant changes and non-changes from the ICC's latest  meeting.
