Turns out we actually do love one-day cricket

There'll be a special little extra this Friday, a live broadcast of our recording for the incredibly pointless milestone of Story Time 150. We'll put up a locked post that will also go out as an email, and it will have a Zoom link. Alternatively if you're already on Discord we'll try to broadcast the audio live on the Talkies channel. We're looking to start the actual Story Time recording at 7pm Melbourne time, which is 10am London, so we'll probably get the call going sometime in the half hour before that.

Hope to see you there. In the meantime, have some podcasts.

Season 14, Episode 40: It's easy to forget, but as soon as a few good one-dayers start up again, we get right back into it. Australia have been notching wins in South Africa thanks to the return of the Suber-Sub: did you know that Labuschagne also spells La Sub Change? England's heatwave* is over, Liam Livingstone figures out how to bat for a while, the Test team will be the second-tier ODI team to play Ireland, the Asia Cup is not really happening but a few overs have been bowled, and we said it couldn't happen but Sri Lanka's women beat England in a series. Rajasthan want to buy Yorkshire, there's a full county wrap, and we're joined for a chat by James Nordin and Will Flynn from England's physical disability team.

And if you too love one-day cricket, here's TFW Daily from the first and second ODIs between England and New Zealand, with Adam and Daniel Norcross. The video versions are on the Tube.

Story Time 149 – When Warney met Dannii Minogue

Sometimes, we have to go all in on a certain subject. Sometimes, it takes half an hour to get to the first number. Sometimes, that number means a story that leads to a story that leads to a story. So it is with a long trajectory through the middle years of Neighbours, the frank assessments of Dr Carl Kennedy, and the artistic genius behind Not Happy Jan. It will all make sense when you hear it. Maybe.

The Final Word with Sai Sudharsan

Season 14, Episode 39: In the video at the top of the most, you might not have recognised the bright-looking kid in the Surrey shirt. But Sai Sudharsan smoked 96 from 47 balls to win the IPL final earlier this year, the biggest score in that fixture by a player who is yet to turn out for India. Now the 21-year-old is playing for a county because he wants to develop his red-ball game and play Test cricket. It's not often we get the chance to talk to India's cricketers, especially young guns on the way up. Hopefully Sai is a player we'll see plenty more from in the decade to come, he seems a lovely chap too.
