The Final Word with Katherine Brunt

Another extensive week in Final Word land, with a weekly show, an extra interview, a Story Time, and the Commonwealth Games dailies. We also recorded next weekend's Story Time 100 with a live Zoom audience, and that show will be released on the pod feed this coming weekend.

Season 12, Ep 20: Two big retirements from women's cricket raise a lot of questions about body image, team harmony, and the rising draw of domestic leagues compared to international contracts. Geoff and Adam meet up in Birmingham to talk through Lizelle Lee and Deandra Dottin giving the game away. Also this week, the problems for England men ahead of the T20 World Cup, another rousing Test victory for Sri Lanka, the end of the road for popular Australian coach Sri Sriram, and some questions about cricket finance.

The Commonwealth Games Daily

With Adam only able to get to the Games for one night, and that being a non-cricket day, we've been lucky to get Natalie Germanos standing in with Geoff. We first worked with Nat on the 2017 World Cup in England, and have done so many times since, including the sandpaper series in South Africa. She's an astute cricket observer and a lot of fun to talk nonsense with. Just the right mix for The Final Word.
