NGE: Hikari's Dilemma - Shot 9 - Covering the Dick

Another shot done! (I'll be switching back to Voyage for Poon soon... I'm just on a roll here!) This is the shot that comes directly after the previous still shot of the condom packages. I actually started this way back, but put it on the backburner to finish the full intro (Newgrounds / Vimeo / Youtube).

This was a particularly challenging shot, as I, uh, didn't really know what I was doing. This sort of thing is a bit more difficult to pull off with puppet animation, especially since my whole goal is to make it look as traditionally animated as possible.

Here's the original comic frame I had to work with:

I converted that to the cell shaded, anime looking assets I needed, and then did A LOT of work trying to get the animation just right. Took a while, but I finally managed to come up with something I liked.

But the thing is, this has a lot of little errors through out, which might not be obvious at first glance. Things like lines overlapping, or some weird distortion, or some tiny bits that just look a bit off. So, I exported everything as an image sequence, and jumped into Krita for some frame-by-frame touchups!

It was mostly just cleaning up some lines and fixing distortion, but I did also add a bit more shadow to the skirt. In the end, came out pretty good!

There are still a couple of things I think are off that I might have to revisit before the whole thing is done, but all in all I think it's looking good!
