A musician I am not. Since lyrics are essentially poetry I suppose I could write them with a bit of effort, but I have no experience with musical notation or writing to fit music. (Indeed, my only real effort to do so - a TF2 love song to the sandvich - remains woefully unfinished.) Thank you both for your kind words, though. Now go play Earthbound. :p

Aiden

If that idea doesn't become an RE musical, you should make it. That sounds awesome! (I don't know anything about Earthbound either, aside from that's it's creepy and has very recognisable music)

I appreciate all of the abundance of news. To help answer your question, the idea that I am thinking is doable to fill this void is a puzzle musical. It could be generic to the genre, or represented from a game, new or old. There is new Pokémon free-to-play puzzler, but Puzzle & Dragons X Mario Puzzle is coming soon as well! Other topics could be: - Yarn the musical (for Yoshi and Kirby) - Adventuring with StarFox Crew - Party with Bowser and Beard (Mario Party 10 Musical) and the my daydreamers music - Fire Emblem the Music (For its cross over, FEA, or the new Fire Emblem)

I may have left that reply window open for an hour or two as I organized my thoughts on the matter while I was doing other things this morning.

This is amazingly well thought out and detailed, for "having never given serious thought to [potential musicals]." :P I approve. (I don't really know anything about the Earthbound series, but this seems legit enough.)

Wait, WEASELS?! I don't remember any teasers involving weasels... That shall be interesting! Can't wait!

Hmm... I've never given serious thought to musicals you could do. I guess if you're interested in doing something with relatively low time and cost requirements you could do an Earthbound musical. You live in suburbs that would probably work for filming and with a little costuming I think AJ would make a decent Ness. The following is one possible scenario for such a musical. Ness is an ordinary kid in an ordinary town. But then things start happening that make him think he's sliding into madness. (e.g. crows are stealing his cookies, he can hear his dog think, his dad is a telephone, he can throw his enemies with the power of his mind [a good place for a beard sighting, I think], a space bee from the future shows up and tells him what to do, etc.) By the end of the song something happens that makes him realize it's all real and he really is destined to save the world. (To be honest, I'm not sure what would be a good reason for the revelation. I like the idea of him meeting Paula and having her resolve it by believing in him, but it wouldn't fit well with the game's plot because it skips so much. It would also mean another singer which ups the complexity of the musical.) Anyway, since Ness is a character in Smash Bros I'd end it by having Ness get another phone call (which, due to the earlier "dad is a phone" appears to be his father) but when he answers it's Snake.

How about a musical about the very first 'videogame' ever made? It's called Cathode Ray Tube Amusement Device. Costume requirements: at least one person has to be dressed as a missile. *has a flashback to the Console War Robots* It might be good for wardrobe recycling?

Splatoon gig sounds like a sweet deal! With that going on for you guys, I hope the recent delays aren't getting in the way of it! So, looking for musical ideas to fill the void in May? Welp! I've always been down with the Final Fantasy CID idea you shared long ago! But it doesn't exactly sound like a time sensitive or budget-friendly production... Either way, that one has been on the top of my list as what I'd LOVE to see from you some day. (Minus the Smash Brotherhood!! :P) If at all possible, you should do that soon, with the buzz of Final Fantasy 15 coming out!
