The fact that they had the real general in this episode in a half Canadian tv show, I think, has a very good reason considering the whole show is a cover for real shit they pull off regularly.

2025-10-06 18:23:58 +0000 UTCBrad Wright was one of the creators of this story and he said that it was intended to be one of the less expensive ones that lets them spend more money on the bigger episodes. But he said: "You would not BELIEVE how expensive it was rendering the glowing aliens. If I had known how much it was going to cost then I might never have told their story." But he did love the look of the set and the script. He also said that it has one of his favourite funny moments in it, which was when Teal'c said he was going to shoot O'Neill and Jack started to count. :-) Personally, it is certainly not a great one, but I do like the occasional "slow" episode that just shows a lot of the mundanity of how their real lives would be on a day to day basis. (Obviously it is not real, but you know what I mean.) It adds some background flavour of what the characters need to put up with. As you said, Samantha Carter IS very pretty. :-) Amanda Tapping had this to say about the young woman playing the cadet: "Hailey's anger and frustration were borne from having too much information in her head with no direction to focus it. Elizabeth Rosen played Hailey with that edge, that stillness and that chip on her shoulder, which is ironic because in real life (and she won't mind me saying this) she is a real goof!"
