Progression, updates and stuff

Ok, so the last month or so has been pretty hectic, which means it's time for yet another one of my apologies for lack of visible work. Rather than go back and read whatever I wrote in the last post, I'll just recap the most relevant stuff since last month.

To start with, I started remaking Running of the Wolves. This is my first Unreal Engine and proper game development project, so I did all kinds of stuff really wrong. I've learned some lessons, and to support ongoing development, I've scrapped it and have been making it again but properly.

So far the whole framework has been redone, and I've even improved the menus, intro and character creator. Various systems are now built and mostly improved on (except things that are due renovation during the next phase). At this moment in time, I'm just finishing off the inventory system and adding in clothing again. The inventory has had a complete rebuild and now works properly with items and clothing in the same place. It even populates clothing properly when moving between levels.

On the animation side of things, I've been working on a new version of Efa, there's a Patron reward animation in the works andthe next WIlderness episode has had some progress made.

However I finally got a job.

The main reason for pushing ahead with game development was in the hopes of making it at least self-sustaining so I could focus on this kind of stuff fulltime, but that didn't pan out, so I had to get work elsewhere, which means productivity is now so minimal. I'm putting in an hour or so each night and usually at least a day each weekend, but it's nowhere near the level I was at a few months ago.

So, this is basically letting everyone know that things are slowing right down for a while. I did contemplate closing down Patreon because I don't think I currently have an output that justifies getting support, but I've been told I should just make people aware of the situation. If you decide it's no longer worth your money, then I understand completely.

Thanks!
