Which VPN or DDNS provider do you use?

First of all, we want to welcome all new Patrons, who have joined recently. Many thanks for supporting DietPi. The new record of 60 Patrons shows us that our work is appreciated, which is a huge motivation.

Coming to the actual topic: You may have recognised the new scripts "dietpi-vpn" and "dietpi-ddns", added with the current release DietPi v7.1.
Those allow you to easily connect your system to a public VPN server and have your dynamic DNS updated on a regular basis. Now that we got first feedback, fixed some bugs and polished those scripts a bit, we want to add support for further public VPN and DDNS providers respectively.

Which VPN or DDNS provider do or did you use and made good experiences with? Tell us in the comments and we'll add those with priority.

Best regards and happy hacking,

your DietPi team

It's September 2022 and no other news? But you had great updates since 2021 :-)

Many thanks for becoming a Patron, and no problem about the post. We install Unbound from the regular Debian repository, which on Bullseye is currently at v1.13.1: https://packages.debian.org/bullseye/unbound As you can see, for the older Buster, the version from Bullseye has been backported, so with some luck, the version from Bookworm (current Debian testing version), which is v1.15.0 at time of writing, will be backported to Bullseye as well. We may send a request for that. Is there a specific feature you are looking for? Always good to combine a backport request with a specific need/argument to satisfy the additional maintainer(s) efforts.

Just became a new Patreon and saw the post. Wasn't after I replied I realised it's an old post. Thanks for the great work! Side note: would it be possible to get Unbound updated to the latest release?
