Content Update: Nemesis Collection

Hi Patrons,

When we originally set out to create a collections of campaign bosses 7 months ago, it was with the grand plan of releasing new campaign-spanning foes that can be dropped into your games early in a campaign (tier 1 play) and become reoccurring villains that can work alongside (or even replace) the campaign's BBEG.

Each Nemesis contains a lot of content: art, quests, statblocks, maps, magic items, and (in many cases) additional monsters that the Nemesis employs. You can see the idea we had for each Nemesis in the Vaerzis and Szor'dan releases: quest lines for each tier of play: Tier 1 (T1) through Tier 4 (T4), with supplementing content to help game masters flesh out these characters.

However, most months simply do not contain the desired amount of time to create a Nemesis of this length, as it is developed alongside all of the other content we release every month (both on Patreon and on the Grim Press Store).

So, at somewhat of a crossroads, we had one of two choices to make:

While we've always strived to have our community members help guide our workflow, my hope is that you'll understand that Option 1 does not really align with our core values. We always want to release the best product possible —one that we are inspired to create. Many of the current Nemesis releases have been cut short of their potential because we were conforming to the monthly release schedule.

What does this mean for patrons?

While this news might be disheartening to those who enjoyed receiving new campaign bosses as part of their Patreon rewards each month, we wanted to be transparent in our decision. I hope you'll understand why we are making this change and know that each new entry in the series will be dedicated the time it deserves to become a product we're happy with at release.

If you have questions or concerns, I encourage you to please comment below, on our Discord server, or message me privately.

Thanks,
Trevor

Option 2 is the right call. As nice as one per month is, I'd rather the quality stay high and an extra $1 for that is more than worth it.

Is it possible to have the Nemesis Collection be something that is produced every other month? Or maybe something that is produced in quarters (4 per year) where the first month a tier 1-2 nemesis is used, then a tier 3 the following month and finally a tier 4 on the third. After the three months, then a new one is created.
