CoS 37

The new chapter, I have begun progress on. Feedback is appreciated. And yes, 22 BBY is the year that the Clone Wars canonically started.

This story is posted on ff.net and space battles. It used to be on Ao3, but I removed it. There's also a pirated version posted by someone named Rimanovi on WebNovels. I've had it taken down, but he just posted it back up.

I would just like to say, but is it just me that notices the parallels between Dooku's story of a drug addict and his Temple's reluctance to cut their attachments to the Coruscant Temple, being an actual case of attachment hurting them? We can say the Jedi are flawed, but the biggest problem is that they apart from their crippling blindspots and arrogance, they are actually good and well rounded. Tanya genuinely thought that giving them access to the digsite would be a chance for diplomacy to mend their relations, and part of that was her trust with Yoda. Which in hindsight, is kinda messed up, because part of why she trusted him is that she befriended him as a literal small child. Looking at all of this, it feels like the Jedi have actually been given more opportunities to make mistakes and fall into their biases and blindspots by the existence of the New Temple and have actually become worse because of it in their fear and paranoia. Meanwhile, Dooku didn't teach or try to tell Tanya or most of the New Temple Jedi the problems with the Old Temple, and instead allowed them to see it's flaws showcased to them by demonstration. Even then, with him being pulled out of his descent into the dark side, he actually could have mended their relationships, maybe even pulled off some reforms, but their actions with the investigation, then the digsite basically ruined their relationship with the New Temple without them even considering the need of diplomacy despite that being something they are skilled in. The Old Temple Jedi basically failed to treat the New Temple as a new faction and didn't realise they were alienating it. This means that the cutoff point, them refusing to help save Dooku's family or even listen to him, parallels Dooku's own blindness regarding Sidious, where his hatred of the Republics corruption let him fail to consider what he was dealing with or the inevitable result of Sidious discovering the prophecy. The Jedi Council here actually seems to have decided at that moment to reject the New Temple entirely, even at the cost of losing important information, and part of it seems be their distrust of Dooku and the New Temple, but also their hatred of Jedi Lords. They've let their fear ramp up and accumulate, and now it's becoming hatred. “Fear leads to Anger, Anger leads to Hate, Hate… leads to suffering.”

Thanks for the chapter. It's nice to be able to provide feedback finally. Actually, this story should be on more than one site if I remember right?
