For this piece, I went with a different software than before. I normally use Clip Studio Paint, but I decided to mix things up this time with Paint Tool SAI. The process remains relatively similar, though, especially in the case of lineart.

I mostly work with large, rough, gestural shapes to get the idea of the movement of the character down on the first pass, and then touch up the linework and details through several passes before finally going over it with an ink brush. Also drawing the shapes in large exaggerated forms helps to make the poses more dynamic and expressive, from personal experience.
