Hi everyone,

I was supposed to make a painting guide on this guy, but the process was too messy and the skin variations between a picture and another so subtle that I decided to avoid making a confusing PDF guide.

Anyway, I think it could be interesting to make a sort of WIP log and post here.

The basic principles I have used to paint the skin were already discussed in the following guide:

Colours list:
Chocolate Brown(vallejo), Burnt Umber(scale75), Yellow Ochre(kimera), Red Oxide(kimera), Blue(kimera), Titanium White(liquitex), Cold Yellow(kimera), Magenta(kimera), Black(vallejo).

Few considerations: Skin is orange so if the result looks too dull just glaze(very diluted) some orange on top of it to give life (aim for the midtones and avoid highlights and shadows), you can also glaze red or magenta. If you want the skint to pop, you can use a neutral background(avoid using greyscale greys, sneak some colour on your greys to have a more lively result).

Exactly! Grey is neutral, so every colour will pop and remain true without alterations

The idea behind the use of greys in the backgrouns is to be able to make the skin pop due the contrast with the greys ?
