A little R&D and HHD bonuses coming next month

Hey everybody;

I've been taking some time to breathe and try to exercise. None of us wants me to die until I've made all the awesome things right? Right. Seriously, your health is priceless. Do not neglect. Anyway.

There are lots of smart folks out there. I'm trying to get better at listening, and one fart smeller (smart feller?) suggested I was overcooking my computer, animations, and wasting time. So yesterday and the day before, I've been digging into "How can I make animations faster? What's the quality benchmark and at what point is is there, vs my technique of today?"

From testing, it's possible I could save ~25% or more of the time my animations take to render. To give an idea, on a slow day, I produce 2 or 3, and those are shorter, only 20-30 frames. If they render that much faster, I can easily push up the frame count, make them smoother even without AI post processing like early in HHD, and more. It's exciting because it means I can produce more work, in less time, faster for all of us. (Hey, I enjoy my games too you know).

While I am not sure if the story needs edits or fixing, there's that "character," feature I have, and the plan is to add bonus scenes via that section, with characters that didn't have sexy camera time in the game proper.

I mean, none of ya'll voted to have the baristas get down & dirty, but that's literally why I created those characters ;) 

Anyway, it's in progress, a few other material issues, rendering research, and more needs to be done before I dive head first into production for the next title. I want it to be amazing and I'm spending time now to make sure my skills grow before I go on a production bender.
