ok heres a whole bunch of scans from my sketchbook- I used to be way more into sketch/diary/making more "pieces" in my book but now its more for planning and doodling. any way to sketchbook is good so i'm not mad. Ive been playing a drawing game on discord where people drop random images from the internet and we draw them in 1-5 min time limits. so you can guess, many of these drawings are from that.

The star of my sketchbook post today is a collab with Paul Peng, who was pushing for abstraction while I topped it off with Fluffle Puff and a rainbow haha!! I always enjoy talking and creating with other artists, even the very academic types that are drawn to formalism. Seeing where my art fits in to that kind of thing is always very interesting. Making me think of that post where someone becomes anticapitalist from reading loads of theory and someone else arrives at the same conclusion based on the general bad vibes of what we got now haha. Except its only art so not that serious ;p

Well I'm in a good mood today and have a group show coming up!! It opens Jan 6th or 7, and will be up for a month + at Crisis Club in Oakland California. (FLyer pending, i will supply the details!) I EVEN HEARD Pinky & Pepper will be there >:3 But the piece I am newly making for it is chronicled here, it's called "I WANT RABIES" and depicts a lil brown and white dog with a Rabies Vaccination tag making out with a blue sparkle husky who is foaming at the mouth and exhibiting clear signs of rabidness xD

Covid, safe sex, and furry conventions had me thinking of this playful idea surrounding risk and reward. (Also remembering the Rabies "fandom" of the 20teens on tumblr & its overlap with sparklefur.) I hope the idea comes across on any level and people enjoy it for its humor and style.. I hope it SELLS!! i cant wait to finish this week. I really like acrylic painting & want to do more. Theres a certain ease & familiarity that is so rewarding. I'll be in touch, and see you in the new year!!
