Hotel Game update
Added 2017-05-12 03:35:28 +0000 UTCI showed this game off a bit last year and then it kind of disappeared. Starting and stopping things is a problem I'm working on correcting.
I put it on hold for a while because it's so complicated to develop. The stealth + inventory + puzzles + cutscenes and voiceovers just became too much for me to handle by myself at the moment.
Basically it came down to either working on this for 2 more years or putting it aside to do a simpler game first (which is Meat Cleaver Mutilator).
But here are some screenshots from the progress I made.
Most of the hotel was at least gray boxed. I ran into a few problems with the map which I couldn't easily figure out. The way the map and puzzles unlock is very important in this kind of survival horror. The mental gymnastics of locking in the details was driving me crazy.
At some point, I'd like to bring on a puzzle designer who specializes in coming up with that sort of thing. I'm honestly not great at it.
