I liked this guy at first but then it became a very 1% kind of podcast and found myself siding with Team Gerhard.

Little-known fact: The pilot episode of ‘Frasier’ was ghost-directed by Stanley Kubrick. It’s well worth a second look for that reason alone. Pauline Kael panned it in one of her final reviews: ‘It’s a very typical and exceptionally bland model of the current strata of the postwar intellectual elite versus the blue collar/working class of the silent generation, with vague homophobic undertones and gentle misogyny, which can be tolerated. However, I just do not enjoy seeing a dog on a screen, large or small, Kubrick or not. I fucking hate goddamn fucking ass dogs. I just want to kick them and this television series pilot as hard as I can right in their frail ribcage.’ Trivia: The entire episode was shot on a soundstage in England, but the laugh track remained ‘American’ at Mr. Kubrick’s wishes.
