He also walks through many, many foyers.

Listening again. Great story. Bret says “I realized” a lot during The Shards. I never realize so much, so often.

Paul Blair

i'm going for a run, will say more later, after my run

I moved to LA from SF (escaped after 15 years) in February – Sherman Oaks, to be exact — and have been getting acquainted with my new surroundings via aimless drives with my dog while listening to The Shards for the first time. It's more than a little surreal listening to it while moving through the region that it's set in, sometimes passing landmarks, like the former La Reina Theatre (now a spa), literally as you're naming them in the book. The fact that this is aural notwithstanding, it has been perhaps the most transportive reading experience I've ever had. I hope I can buy it in print soon. Top shelf B.E.E.

Trevor Tillman

hell fuckin yes

Reminds me to comment again. I would pay $50 each audio book for Bret to read American Psycho and his other books. The narrators for his books just can't compete, i enjoyed White so much as read by B.E.E.

When you’re talking to me, you’re really talking to yourself dude. I keep thinking about that line

Matt Polityka

I was so glad to listen to this in real time. Anticipating each new release every couple of weeks. I think that added to my enjoyment. Thanks so much for this one Bret. I think this was my favorite of all the things you've written.

The day has vastly improved. Bret is the best.

Brian Rooney

Thanks, Bret but I think I’m going to pass on listening a second time. While listening to The Shards was an experience I’ll never forget, I’d rather wait and read it when it’s published. By the way, half way through season 2 of Euphoria. Holy shit, it’s incredible.

Iain

Amazing - thank you!!!

Devils 1973
