What’s your favorite song on the Streets of Fire soundtrack?

Mat Bradley-Tschirgi

I could be wrong but I don't think this is a post to leave questions. I think this is a receipt from the Q and A episode on 1/11/2022.

Besides Call Me By Your Name, what are your favorite "gay" films? I'll mention a few to get things going: Cruising, My Own Private Idaho, Brokeback Mountain, Boys Don't Cry, Hedwig and the Angry Inch, Milk, Bound, Weekend, Boys In The Band...you get the idea. I assume Moonlight is not on your list. Thanks!

Bret, thank you for The Shards. As others have mentioned, it may prove to be your greatest work, maybe even topping the second half of Glamorama. In addition to the genius of the work itself, the podcast release allowed a group of my friends to discuss every installment obsessively. We are currently planning a tour of all Shards locations. Would you consider helping us out with a few of the harder to pinpoint locations, such as The Space on Melrose? Obviously, we know a lot of these buildings and restaurants have been replaced, but it would still be great to see the locations. Question: We noticed several time incongruities in the novel. Was this intentional, to show that the narrator was losing touch with reality? For instance, The Shards begins by placing Labor Day 1981 on the wrong date. Another example being that during the weekend sexathon with Ryan, NFL games were being played on television late in the day at a time they weren’t played in 1981. Thanks again.

Hello Bret. Every time I see Tom Cruise (e. g. in Eyes Wide Shut or Magnolia) I can’t stop thinking that he should have played Patrick Bateman in American Psycho. What do you think? — Peter.

Well, sure, it's not Madmen, but for a 90s sitcom, the jokes are often pretty spot on, with great timing and delivery from the cast. I removed my "great writing" comment to not trigger anyone.

Do you seriously think at the writing on friends is good?
