My glass oil lamps look nice with the current green coloured paraffin I get from the hardware shop in town, unbranded can, he used to sell Total red paraffin in bulk, take your own can, but his tank kept getting broken into so he stopped and started to sell pre packed. Thankfully didn't need them during storm Γowyn, only the street lamps lost power or were turned off for safety reasons if blown over. Whole country had a red alert. My area was one of the few in West Cork that did not suffer power outages or water outages. Sometimes living in a valley that runs in the right direction is good.

In the 1960's and 70's, before central heating became more widespread, Paraffin heaters were popular and Esso had a paraffin product called "Esso Bloo". It looks identical but I doubt it tasted the same! As a reversed type 2 diabetic, I find your taste tests are mostly out of bounds for me. Even sugar-free drinks are banned! However, mushrooms are good, so....
