Thanks Alanna, another very entertaining vid. My husband is the cook in our house, he watched it with me and I haven't heard him laugh so much in ages. I especially loved when you poured the coffee in the pan & he said "that brandy's not going to light", & then watched it play out. It did make me want to try mulled coffee though!

Thankfully the chunky egg bits are removed from the store egg nog.

The soda/ice cream combination it’s more like a drink rather than a syrup – I would recommend you give it a try since it’s so easy to put together, and I’m sure you’ve got the ingredients to hand πŸ˜€ As for the baby food packaging , I agree it’s likely a combination of hygiene and ease of use – I guess if you’re trying to feed a baby, the last thing you want to do is struggle with tins etc?

Theo

I finally get so many gains! πŸ’ͺ🏻

Yeah totally! I guess whenever I had eggnog back home I would buy the stuff from the store and for some reason it didn't turn my stomach like looking at the chunky eggs when making it lol

Cheers Tony!

Interesting - that ice cream soda seems like mostly soda but at least the ice cream wouldn't be as overpowering! I obviously don't have kids but I guess the food standards have food packaged that way for a reason

Cheers Shaun! Hope you have a nice weekend!

Alanna, If you were to drink 1/2 dozen raw eggs and then go running or pound a hide of raw beef that would be YouTube gold. It worked for Sylvester Stallone...πŸ₯šπŸ₯©πŸ₯Š

The last one looks like egg nog! The spiced coffee looked really good too.

Just imagine the work and effort of making Puree in a Victorian kitchen, everything done by hand, they had mechanical blenders but hand wound. Yes the Alcohol content of a quality Brandy is around 45% or above not the 30% of that Tesco own brand. Mulled Wine taste of course as Brandy is distilled wine. The quantities might have a slight variation as have been converted from ounces and Fluid Ounces to gms and ml and looks like not exact conversions but rounded up or down, that 250gm, 225gm or 227gm pack of butter 227 gm a 1/4 lb pack (4oz) as was before metric. My battered, dog eared, with a broken spine and stained copy was reedited and printed before we went metric, dated 1920 reprint. I should try and get it onto 'The Repair Shop' as was my Grandmothers, lots of happy memories in her Kitchen helping (hindering?) her and learning to cook. May she rest in peace 1885-1965.

Great video Alanna. The Ice Cream Soda recipe seemed a little too complicated - as kids, we used to make ice cream soda by filling a glass 3/4 full of soda, then adding a 1/4 of vanilla ice cream and stirring in - it made a lovely creamy drink - Yum! Also, just an observation; the baby food fruit purΓ©e packaging seemed very wasteful for such a small amount of purΓ©e. from the non-reuse plastic point of view,

Theo

Wow, that was an adventure, thanks! Your cooking videos are always chaotic but a lot of fun. The drinks all sound kind of weird, but I think the last one does sound the best.

Cheers!

Ahhh terrible! πŸ’€

I thought so too but the instructions said add the coffee and then alight. I think if I did it next time, I would light it before the coffee and let it burn off then add the coffee at the very end β˜•

Why is it so hard to open baby food containers? It's a horrible tale to tell mate, but it never used to be that way. They're anti-tampering tops, as there were concerns of people tampering with foods (especially baby foods) in supermarkets! So this not only makes it difficult to do so easily, but also if you buy a food and the top is easy to remove, you should discard it/ask for a refund. Great vid btw!

David Jones

It would have to be a really high percentage brandy to light after being watered down with coffee. I wonder if they meant light the brandy and then add the coffee
