To finish off Book Club this year, we read Five Decembers by James Kestrel - I really enjoyed this one! So nice to finish off the year on a high ๐
I loved that this incorporated so many different genres - crime/noir with a bit of romance and a bit of war and to top it off, a murder mystery! I loved how the writing was direct and to the point like a hardened detective would think and really enjoyed the expansiveness of the plot. Loved it! Yay!
Did you read this one/listen along? Let me know what you thought! #nospoilers
This week's exclusive video is a recap of Book Club 2024 - I hope you enjoy it! And if you weren't sure which were the best books to read, I'll give you my top recommendations.
I absolutely loved our previous Book Club Pick The Wager, by David Grann - so much so that we're reading another of his books: The Lost City of Z ๐๐๏ธ๐๏ธ for January! This covers the true story of British explorer Percy Fawcett's adventures in the Amazon.
My goal is to read more - so I started Book Club! Each month, Iโll post what Iโm reading and you are welcome to join in ๐ Whether you want to read or listen, it's totally up to you! At the end of the month, weโll share our thoughts on the book (no spoilers in case you're still reading/listening).
You can try and read each book, or pick and choose month-to-month, or not! Itโs totally up to you.
Happy reading!
