9 Years in the UK | Exclusive Q&A

Hey Patreon! 👋🏻 It's been (nearly) NINE YEARS since I moved to the UK 🤯 hard to imagine!

Thanks to everyone who submitted questions - I've added chapters to the video in case you want to jump around.

And THANK YOU for your support over the years. I never imagined this little hobby would turn into what it is now 🙏🏻

Oh? It's rarely far from my thoughts.... 😃

I think visas are important as much as they are difficult for me 😩 There is an Ancestry Visa which allows you to stay here if your parents/grandparents are/were British - that's a bit closer to your suggestion. Unfortunately for me it's my GREATGrandparents who were British, so I don't qualify

Thanks Stuart! Gotta be honest, I've never thought about the patronage system in ancient Rome lol

I've finally able to catch up on the video. Firstly, congratulations on the 9 years, it's amazing how time flies. With any luck the 10 year video will also include the ILTR celebration. Some great questions and answers here, though you somewhat reinterpreted mine but that's ok, it was a nice answer 😊 (FWIW, I was more along the lines of asking you to compare your relationship with Patreon members to that of patronage system in ancient Rome - where some poets/authors/creators resented having to indulge their patron with meetings and content, whereas other enjoyed their relationship as a friendship). Anyway, lovely video. Thanks for all the content you've created and the community you've built up over the years - here's to many more!!

Hi, love the video, please never stop. You have a lovely community. I love the guys on discord. On a side point, my butlers a lawyer that deals with the home office and he thinks the requirements for "indefinite leave to remain" won't change. So please don't worry x

Amber

Congratulations on 9 years! BTW trawling the coastline for drug packages sounds like a Grand Theft Auto quest, here's hoping for GTA Kent in 2025 XD

What I find puzzling is that citizens of some ex Empire Commonwealth countries get an indefinite right to remain rubber stamped on arrival but others have to go the expensive visa route. When a certain Government tried to change this recently and deport some who had been in the UK for over 60 years (Windrush generation) outrage followed. Indefinite right to remain should apply to all ex Empire countries. The UK needs immigrants now as much as in the past, the whole country is a nation of immigrants going back to pre Roman times. I just hope the CTA never gets changed or I will have to relocate back to SE England, which I do not wish. Think I just let the cat out amongst the pigeons. Suit of armour being put on now.

Congrats on nine years 🎂 Regarding that screenshot of the ‘sunken drugs’ article, I love the name of the department that participated in finding them: the ‘Border Force National Deep Rummage Team’
