Can I bake a historical British pudding? (I have no idea what I'm doing)

Hey Patreon! 👋🏻 Who's hungry?

Big shoutout to Steven for sending this historical cookbook to the PO Box! Today we're making a pudding and hopefully not burning the house down..

Hope you have a great rest of your weekend! ☀️

That was fun, I thought you did really well with the information given.

Yes, it should have been blind baked, the clue was with the word crust, a pastry case already cooked. Fortunately my Grandmother was born in Victorian times and spoke Victorian English, reading between the lines became ingrained when having a conversation with her. Victorian recipe books assumed one knew how to cook and bake so didn't need to explain techniques. Think I need to send you a copy of Mrs. Beeton's Household Management, everything is clearly explained to run a house as a new wife who doesn't have a scooby. Some great fully detailed recipes but one does need to know the temperatures of a cool, warm, medium, hot and very hot oven, which were the markings on the indicator on a range door. Modern editions have been updated with actual temperatures.
