Patreon Only - Reacting to UK Christmas Adverts

Can you believe I never watch British Christmas adverts? Until now?? 📺🎄

I know everyone does this now on YT, so I've always avoided it. But this year I wanted to break with tradition and see what all the fuss is about.

Have a favourite Christmas advert? Let me know!!

One of my all-time favourite Christmas ads was the Sainsburys one from 2014 - based on the famous "Christmas Truce" on the Western Front during the early part of the First World War - check it out, Alanna...!

The John Lewis ads are usually the most anticipated Christmas ads. It is worth looking at previous years JL commercials. I did enjoy that video Alanna.

Dawn French and Graham Norton also the voices in the first M&S ad, the fairy actually looks like her. The M&S clothing ad was taken off air by OffCom after all the complaints, since reedited and back on air. Barbour are makers of waxed jackets and Motor Cycle waterproof suits, top end, expensive, mine is over 20 years old and almost as good as new, reproofed the once and very stained. The John Lewis ad is disappointing this year. They all started with the Woolworth's ones in the late 60's, Cliff Richard sometimes featured as always had a Christmas single out, Woolies sold a lot of records at Christmas and Cliff was often at No. 1. You get all your News from the internet then, not the news on the BBC, ITV and Channel 4, Sky News can be a bit biased at times (the Murdoch influence, like the newspapers owned by the group).

M&S do do more than one. And yep it was Ryan Reynolds and Rob McElhinney. There are a couple of Wrexham FC 'Easter eggs' in there as well.

Theathrow as it became known after the Brinks Mat bullion theft.

Barbour wax coats are what all the cool kids wear! Get with the times Alanna!

No the Asda one doesn't do it for me. Sports direct, few British icons, good use of the "now that's" logo. Barbour is a high end jacket maker. Edit - Thought you'd do the Tesco one. Thought the Waitrose one was pretty good, watched them right after your one. Who knew Heathrow had one too 😂

Alanna in here doing the lord's work, watching these ads so we don't have to. 🙏 Also, Michael Bublé makes Alanna dribble, confirmed. 😂

IMHO this Patreon video could have done well as a full Tuesday YouTube video! I love this John Lewis advert from 2012: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_IaTVlOvv14
