This month we had two possible books from author Matt Haig, and I ended up reading them both!
First up was The Midnight Library - this was recommended by loads of people and I can see why. Really interesting concept, great "lessons" and overall I really enjoyed it! Quick read, pretty easy with nice short chapters. I'd definitely recommend this to anyone looking for a new book.
Next was How to Stop Time - this one isn't as beloved as the previous one and I can see why - but it's still good! Interesting "lessons" in this one as well and a cool plot. I struggled making progress with this at first, but I think that was more to do with me not wanting to read than the book. It ended up picking up well and then abruptly ends! Overall I think it's worth reading, but I definitely preferred Midnight Library.
If you've been with us for awhile, years ago we read The Invisible Life of Addie LaRue which is very similar to How to Stop Time. Personally, I think I preferred Addie - but both are good in their own right.
Did you read any of these? Let me know what you thought! #nospoilers for those still reading
What is Book Club?
My goal is to read more - so I started Book Club! Each month, I’ll post what I’m reading and you are welcome to join in! At the end of the month, we’ll share our thoughts on the book (no spoilers in case you're still reading).
You can try and read each book, or pick and choose, or not! It’s totally up to you.
📚 Happy Reading! 📚
