Beeswax from a Beekeeper can be quite soft as can have a high moisture content (great for polish) and needs to be kept hot (not too hot) and stirred often in an open pan for an hour or so to evaporate it off. Test setting as one tests the setting of jam but more solid and brittle. Most commercial bought blocks have had this done.

It was just roughly broken up multi coloured wax

Will

Ahh that sounds really sweet! Would definitely like to try adding colour or put weird little surprises in the wax next time lol

Adventures and Naps

Ooh I've never worked in beeswax before, that would be a fun experiment!

Adventures and Naps

Cheers David, I had so much fun!! ๐Ÿ˜‚

Stuart I'm so happy for you!!! The gym is definitely one of my happy places - being physically healthy is good but I find it helps my mental health SO MUCH ๐Ÿ™๐Ÿป Hope you have a great time there once you get over your cold!!

Adventures and Naps

Ahh thanks so much Malcolm!! I can't wait to burn through these and try again with some stuff inside in the wax!

Adventures and Naps

Aww that's really sweet! I would be cynical and think that he would run away before paying lol It's a shame Tim Hortons isn't closer, I really missed that Ice Cap ๐Ÿ’”

rip phallic candle ๐Ÿ™๐Ÿป Do you remember what the chunks were? I'd love to do it again but put stuff in them

Adventures and Naps

I think you'd love candles! Should add it to your craft list sometime ๐Ÿ•ฏ๏ธI definitely want to try again and put cute stuff inside lol

I made candles one summer as a kid when I was at our cottage. I melted old crayons (for colour) and parafin and then dug holes in the sand to make the mold. So the outside of the candles were sandy but I remember them being pretty neat but not actually very good at burning. I think I tried different layers of colours too. Your candles turned out really good. Obvi that iced capp was a winner.

Have made my own Beeswax candles in the past. Have a local Beekeeper so the wax is cheap and great honey from him. Made both traditional stick candles and in containers. If the wick's attached/passed through a heavy small holed (a large knot tied in the wick) washer no need to glue down. My local Butcher has a good supply of soft cotton string to use as a wick. May treat myself to an Edenbridge candle or two for my Birthday at the end of the month. The best review a business can get is repeat business as you know so tend to say in any rare review submitted that this is a repeat order/visit enough said. Tend to take most read with a pinch of salt unless bad. Off to coat two dozen fresh eggs in melted butter so they will keep for months in the cool and dark unrefrigerated.

Loved this video. It may have been chaotic to make, but was so much fun to watch. Although you using glue, hot wax, scissors and matches unsupervised... Scary ๐Ÿคฃ

My reaction to that TimH server being so pushy would have been to write a review complaining about pushy staff! Candle making looks fun! Thanks for the video as always ๐Ÿ™‚

I can supply you with more sparkles! How many millions do you want?

Great video! One of your best? I've joined a gym! Me, a 72 year old male. God bless the NHS, they got me a ''Fresh Start'' 12 week gym session back in October and I had my last session Friday. I've signed up for full membership as they had a 30% off deal for 3 months. In other news, I had a similar thing to your Timmies encounter, but mine was with a seller on Amazon. I bought a cheap ''Smartwatch'' to check my smartwatch I'd bought as I didn't trust the heart rate shown. Anyway, I received a sort off nice email from ''Alice'' saying they had a new ''Smartwatch'' coming out and if I would give it a good review, they would refund the cost (ยฃ30.00) to me! Here's the thing, I got the watch and, my God, it was really good! It does everything (almost) that my ยฃ200.00 watch does! However, they had 4 watches coming out in January and I said it look a bit off if I gave all of them 5* ratings so I declined her generous offer. And I've been sick too! First cold in 5 years! The End!

Definitely sounds as though the Tim H's staff are being pushed to get reviews...though maybe a little too much! As for the candles, they looked really good and the containers were a great idea, although you've got tough competition as The Butler's Edenbridge candles are really top notch!!

Malcolm Lawrence

Your Tim Hortons interaction is so strange lol, when I was in Tim Hortons on Tuesday a boy that looked like he was around 14 came up to me and said he only had coins and didnโ€™t have a card and asked if I could pay for his drink, so I did it and he gave me coins lol and I thought that was random, but your review interaction is very random lol, thanks for your video! Hope you have a nice weekend!

Great video, I think would've pointed out to the TImmies guy how inappropriate that was but I am OBLC so.... ๐Ÿ˜‚ I used to make candles years ago as a hobby, I once made a really cool one that was about 6" tall, purple with multi coloured chunks in, I left it in the conservatory one summer and it melted into a kinda dubious shape..... ๐Ÿ† If I can find any photos, i'll post them in the Discord. ๐Ÿ˜‚

Will

Candles was always something I wanted to make as a kid & my mum always came up with reasons why I couldnโ€™t, even after I was given a kids kit to do it, still no ๐Ÿ˜‚ Wonder if that Tim Hortons is incentivising their employees to get reviews, certainly never had it happen before in a fast food place lol. Canโ€™t wait to see the video!
