I think this is supposed to be "newer" version with caramel instead! Either way, what a mess lol

Adventures and Naps

Interesting! I guess this recipe is trying to make it a bit more modern?

Adventures and Naps

Cheers Tony!

Adventures and Naps

It looks very 80s lol

Adventures and Naps

Right on!!

Adventures and Naps

Interesting! I thought I recognised the name but wasn't sure if it's available much in Canada

Adventures and Naps

😂 Honestly, fair lol

Adventures and Naps

I wonder if they're available at all in Canada!

Adventures and Naps

💔😂 I hate that song lol

Adventures and Naps

Thanks so much Aaron! Hope you're able to make the stream tonight!

You should try a "real" one if you happen to see it!! Maybe not this version though 😂

It really isn't often that I can offer personal experience tips to your cookery vids Alanna, but I have done a couple of banoffee pies and I'm amazed that recipe doesn't say to use condensed milk and then put it back in the fridge before adding the cream - even a few hours helps! But if you're in a hurry and need a sugar rush (and don't mind a mess) then just go for it!!

Malcolm Lawrence

And as someone else said, it used to be heated Condensed milk. Seem to remember a can exploding when a mate forgot to pierce it!

Andy McGarty

I think it was a given that it should be chilled overnight before serving. It works better if one just places a tin of Condensed Milk (not Evaporated) in a pan of boiling water for about twenty minutes then allow to cool, it makes a thicker caramel than the bought stuff (punch hole in top of can first), the longer it is boiled the thicker it gets. A sprinkle of dark chocolate crumbs/slivers or hundreds and thousands makes it look better. One can use Chocolate Digestives for the base.

Something from the 80s. You'd have them at posh dinner parties. Too sweet for me.

I always thought Banoffee pie was American. You learn something new evry day it seems!

SJ NM

I've had it for dessert before at a restaurant and I remember enjoying it. Yeah, I think you're right about letting it chill again before serving.

Best approach is just to eat the whole thing in one sitting, without slicing it up.

A what pie?

Great Video. I always found Banoffee Pie disappointing, sounds great, looks great, smells great, in practice.... Meh. I also have a couple of bones to pick with Alanna.... 1. She denied us some very satisfying biscuit blending ASMR 2. She didn't once use the phrase "Buttery Biscuit Base". Very sad. 😭

Will

That’s a perfect “pie in the face” pie and I think you owe twitch that!

Jamie Smith

If it passes the taste test then it's scored as another victory for the Naps Kitchen...🥧🍰

Steve Mikre

I don’t think I’ve seen one before either, but I feel like I’ve heard of them a lot lol, thanks for the video! Hope you have a nice halloween!

Aaron Conway

I think it’s from East Sussex & yet, I don’t think I’ve ever seen one either 🤔 We never had it for dessert, my mum can’t eat bananas & to be totally honest, I’ll always pick something chocolatey over fruit (exception being rhubarb crumble) every time lol It looked good until you cut it 😂
