How about the differences between Canada and the US resulting from the influence of the Uk. The US wanted nothing to do with us and made a point of doing everything differently from eating, spelling etc, while Canada remained loyal to the empire and eventually the Commonwealth. How does that manifest itself nowadays? Is there any mileage in that idea? Similarities and differences across the 3 nations?

Partly because of the complexity (three different unions, some Train Operating Companies are affected more than others, etc etc) and partly because of the angry comments it would generate (regardless of what the video said). Good luck with the subathon preparations!

Anyway, the train strikes thing could be a rabbit hole not to go down, but how about looking at the impact of the now "official" drought and the specific impact around Kent - how some of the lovely beauty spots currently turned from green to brown through lack of rain, impact on local crops (how are the hops and orchards doing), fire alerts etc.

2022-08-13 16:21:32 +0000 UTCIt sure is a hot one today (31.5 C) - even up here in the frozen north (The Wirral). I just went for a wander in Liverpool - it was lovely in the warm sunshine. Local trains are running (Merseyrail) but Intercity train services are not, due to the strike. How about doing a Theme Park video? Thorpe Park or Legoland Windsor? Compare with those in Canada or USA? Just a thought.

Unless you agree 100% with whoever, they will say not nice things! In other news, the reason Dover is the Crime Capital of Kent is they include all contraband people try to smuggle in the ferries! How about a video of Ramsgate Harbour? Not only is it very picturesque, but it also has the world's largest Wetherspoons! What is there not to like!
