June Book Club REVIEW!
Added 2022-06-28 18:00:05 +0000 UTCThis month I read the Subtle Art of Not Giving a F*ck (you can buy it here if you're still interested in reading it!). I remember this book being HUGE when it first came out but I never got around to reading it.
I thought a lot of the concepts were really interesting - and there were definitely lot of stuff that resonated with me. Certainly lots of bits that I hope to incorporate into my own life! I really liked the idea that you are responsible for your own actions, only you get to decide what upsets you, what annoys you, whether you have a bad day and that you have the power to choose what you focus your energy on.
In my life, I get lots of really negative comments, emails, DMs from thousands of people. I can choose to let these upset me, choose to listen to them and hate myself or to quit making content altogether. Or, I can choose to ignore them, to not care what they think because I have chosen not to care about their opinion! I can choose to focus my energy and attention on things that are important to me instead.
Unfortunately the author was a bit annoying.. seemed very much like a "lad" who kept reminding us how many people he's slept with lol BUT I think the good concepts outweigh the annoying author.
If you read it, let me know what you thought!

I’m a very anxious and nervous person too, so I appreciate that we did this book! It helped me realise that I can be less anxious and choose to not worry about certain things! I definitely liked it overall, thanks for picking this book for book club!
