you'll be telling us you didn't know that Pocahontas was buried in Gravesend next!

Wow! Never heard of any of those places!

Adventures and Naps

Ahh! Hope the paperwork wasn't too horrible. I needed up finishing all my jumpers in the end, after a snack lol

Adventures and Naps

I agree, Brett! Tuesday's video is a haunted Kentish village 👻 Didn't turn out like I wanted but at least I've learned a few things for next time!

Adventures and Naps

Thanks Jillian!! I agree - it costs nothing to be kind!

Thanks so much Sarah! I started the book after recording and I'm really enjoying it so far! I've never read anything that's so Kent-based before, talking about Kent Police, Faversham, Whitstable, etc, very neat!

Probably stay up late playing video games 😅

there's a few bonkers places in Kent of course: Teapot Island and the Dog Collar Museum. Dungeness has an 'end of the world' vibe to it. And I thought that before I even read this artice, which I still haven't read https://www.timeout.com/kent/things-to-do/best-things-to-do-in-dungeness

wow, strange you saying about your jumper, i was going over a load of paper work , that was lurking on my desk , as well as watching you with your jumpers ..

Lester Townsend

Are there any haunted towns or villages around Kent? I'm sure the video will turn out fine and be a delightful little travel video for Tuesday. I think people forget sometimes how hard it is to put stuff out there online. I couldn't do what you do. But from listening to other youtubers and influencer people, it is hard to not to get sucked into the whole numbers game. Trying to grow your channel is great and all but I think it's always better to just focus on what you want to make rather than what you think people will like.

People who actively use their energy to be miserable/negative are exhausting. It takes much less energy to be kind/positive/helpful. In my experience, even when I am dealing with hard things, it is still easier to be kind to others. Your 'TedTalk' was full of great tips especially, actively choosing how you respond to a situation.

Thanks for the TED talk - there was some really wise advice in there! If there are any common factors between the content creators that I watch and support, it's that they never put any unneeded negativity into the world and that they are brave enough to put a lot of their life/personality on the Internet for strangers to criticize. I don't think that I could ever handle that criticism, so I'm grateful for all the people who rise above it and keep on making what they want to make

One Saturday I might get through a Patreon of yours without being interrupted by the Tesco driver, that's the quick part, what takes the time is scanning everything for Kantur, the people who provide the facts and figures to retailers, manufactures and Governments on our spending patterns. My contribution to society and the calculation of the RPI. You could always film without the sound if too loud and do a voice over in the edit. or just reduce its volume level and do the voice over so we get some atmosphere of the place. Stay safe and I hope my "Postman Pat" or "Postman Paddy" here, delivers a certain item soon.

Oh, sure Ted talks but does he ever listen? So, I put the laptop on the couch, sat down in a big old armchair next to it, grabbed a pipe and started your therapy session. Sorry! I still have nothing. I’m terrible at this. The ghost of Sigmund Freud is haunting me and is blaming my mother. All the best from Vienna, birthplace of psychoanalysis!

Alanna what a heart felt video. .life is far to short to worry about things you can't control. ..The Web can be hard and some folks that are in there are just sad and alone. They are very low and very unkind with there comments. .Rise above that and enjoy what you have around you ..The main thing you still like do this stuff . One day you may wake up and say " You know what , I can't be bothered anymore "..As I get older I do find that I don't care what people think about me ..Trust me that make the days so mush better ..Anyway your content is light hearted and fun to watch ..After a cap day it's easy to watch and take in . At the end of the it's harmless. A lot of people thank you for that . We all have good days and ones that are not so good ..Being from Kent there are so many small town and villages that would good vid . Look forward to them ..A big thank you to all the time and effort you put in to your channel. .

That’s a wise ted talk. It’s a good book choice for November too, I just started the sequel and I am hoping it will be as good. To be honest I only got it because Richard Osman and I have the same eye condition and I can imagine how hard it must be to write a whole book, even with help, but I was glad I got it even if it’s a daft reason. Thanks for the video, I enjoy ones with lots of parts. I hope you have a great weekend.

Sarah Hogg

Lots of wise words, but now I'm just left wondering what the most heinous thing you did as a child was!

Totally with you about avoiding confrontation. I enjoy enthusiastic debate on objective terms, but my fear is always emotional reactions from people because I'm so bad at dealing with them. Interesting to hear you share your thoughts and feelings about negative comments on your YouTube videos. Some people delight in being unpleasant for the sake of it, safe in the knowledge that anonimity means it is consequence free. They almost certainly have issues in their lives and, in a sad way, I suspect it provides an outlet for them. Far, far outweighing that is the vast majority of your regular YouTube viewers and Patrons who really appreciate you, enjoy your content and want to see you succeed. Thanks again for posting these Saturday videos. 🙂

Hi, Alanna, really interesting and enjoyable. Don't worry about the subs you lost talking about delivery companies I thought it was accurate and funny. I must admit I keep well away from, Twitter, Instagram and Tik Tok, and I don't regret not being on them. Don't worry about traffic in your video it wouldn't be an A & N video without that.

Stephen Parker

Good morning Alanna, thanks for the video and sharing your thoughts😀…with regards to the naysayers on you tube, stuff em!! You keep doing what you do as long as it makes you happy……I’m rushing about at the mo, but just wanted to drop a quick line in the meantime and I will try to write down and share a couple of the life lessons I’ve learnt when I’ve got a bit more time. 😂

Cloudcatcher

Thank you so much for the Ted Talk! You gave really good advice! I look up to you, you’re such a nice person and I think you’re a really good example of the type of person that I’d like to be when I’m older! So thank you so much for the advice, I really appreciate it!

Aaron Conway

Most if not all YouTube viewers who leave nasty comments do not use their real name. That in my book makes them even more irrelevant. Thank you for sharing this great Saturday Patreon episode...

Steve Mikre

Morning Alanna - happy Saturday! We all need a Ted Talk once in a while and I guess the key to it is that we get something positive from it to take forward. Can I just say that 1) I love your book reviews - 'the Alice Network' was brilliant and I took 'Educated' by Tara Westwood on my recent hols and read it in record time, so keep 'em coming! 2) what you say about You Tube is spot on - your YT channel is unique and doesn't ever get stale. Loving the idea of exploring more of Kent too!

Malcolm Lawrence

If you enjoy doing something then your time isn’t wasted, even if it’s a pointless activity… unless that activity is trolling others, people that are doing that should get a life! You’ve made some great points… life won’t always be easy & it’s okay not to be okay sometimes. As long as you get back up & keep trying, everything will work out. Also don’t listen to the naysayers! They’re idiots! Most couldn’t do what you do! You’re doing amazing! Thanks for coming to my “ted talk” 😂🙂👍💜
