What a great show!

We recently watched (and finished) the AMC TV show: Halt and Catch Fire - I really enjoyed it!

"It's the early 1980s, and the spirit of innovation in personal computing is about to catch fire. Hot on the trail is a renegade trio -- a visionary, an engineer and a prodigy -- who risk everything to realize their vision of building a computer that can change the future."

For some reason I didn't get hooked right away, but the final 2 seasons were SO GOOD. The entire show is only 4 seasons so it doesn't take long to get through. If you're interested in computers, tech, drama - it's a great show! Wonderful character development!

(However, I don't think you need to know a lot about early computers to enjoy the show, either.)

What a great show!

Sounds cool, thanks for the heads-up!

Watched it a while ago, I think on Amazon Prime if that helps anyone. Was a really good show. If you didn't catch it, BBC's Micro Men (from 2009) is a drama about the late Clive Sinclair and ARM starting Alexander Armstrong and Martin Freeman is very good too. You can find it on YouTube.

Fantastic show, watched it when first out. Having lived and worked through the computer boom of the 80s (sadly not in silicon valley) there were a lot of good memories and laugh out loud moments. The title comes from an instruction in the 6800 (HCF) that caused the computer to stop and need a reset. I think it was originally a bug but become a documented 'feature' in future processors. Great series and one of the first outings for the fantastic McKenzie Davis. A similar show is "Silicon Valley" but more of a comedy and set in recent times with the boom in social media.

From the synopsis it looks really good. Which platform did you watch it on?
