My partner filmed my b-roll! New glasses are good! Currently drinking water!

Thank you!!

Adventures and Naps

Thanks so much!

Adventures and Naps

You're too kind! If only my YT view count reflected that lol

Adventures and Naps

I've thought about it 😂

Adventures and Naps

Does your partner help with filming stuff outside? How are the new glasses going? Are you hydrating enough?

Brett Carruthers

Thanks for this, Alanna! I've actually been posting the occasional amateur music video on YouTube myself for a few years now, just for fun! I posted about three in the beginning, then suddenly discovered they'd given me my own channel by default! I'm on there as "Steve Parkes" and my profile pic is the same as this one here (red lumberjack shirt!) I do NOT keep to any kind of regular schedule, like you have to - I just post a new one when a new idea comes to me and I've worked it through. I thoroughly enjoy the whole process - from actually shooting the footage to doing all the editing (which I find extremely satisfying!). I edit using Adobe Premiere Elements 14. I also make my own thumbnails with Photoshop Elements 14 as well. I'm a retired graphic artist, so it comes second nature to me. Thanks again, and keep up the good work - a lot of people love to see it!

My compliments on your lighting and home ambience. It looks casual but I'd bet you have put a lot of effort into it. The whole room is lit but you are appropriately highlighted - even backlight! The sound pickup is also good - there's nothing more annoying than a long echoey discussion. Great work!

William Seabrook

really enjoyed this change of pace, Alanna. An excellent video.

Interesting and alot of insight, but Alanna has that certain "it" factor that separates her from other YouTubers. She was destined to be an international celebrity...

Steve Mikre

Interesting stuff. Can you fool the YouTube algorithms and still maintain your integrity by being a north (tiny font) AMERICAN (massive font) reacting to.

Bruce Bush

Yep, just seen it thanks.

Malcolm Lawrence

Just added the estimated times to another comment!

Adventures and Naps

There's literally no other room to put the cider lol

Adventures and Naps

Cheers pal!!

If that's the type of work you want to be involved in, having a YT portfolio is great! I got my marketing job because I could show that I started my own channel and built it up myself.

Adventures and Naps

Great question and I couldn't tell you.. maybe something like: 1 hour planning 1 hour filming the "sitting and talking" 30 mins filming other bits over a few days 2 hours editing 1 hour for export, uploading, scheduling

Adventures and Naps

Thanks a lot Alanna, I found that fascinating. Not being overly 'techie' I've often wondered what's needed behind the scenes to make your content and it never even crossed my mind as to just how many stages are involved, especially as you keep to your publishing deadlines. Out of interest, if you added it all up how many hours of your time do you reckon you put into an average You Tube video?

Malcolm Lawrence

Brilliant video. Fascinating insight into the creation process and all of the work involved, who knew cushion plumping would be part of it..... Also, nice to see the Thistly Cross is within reach too. 😂

Will

Interesting video Alanna. Certainly makes me appreciate all the effort you put into your channel. I liked the editing process. I think you're very gifted in this regard. Your videos always have a seamless quality that makes them easy and fun to watch. You make them look effortless, and yet still convey your warmth and charm. Keep up the good work.😊

Stephen Wadkin

Thank you so much for making this! I've wanted to make youtube videos for a while because it would help a lot with the types of jobs that I want to do! But its really scary to start! Your video was really interesting and it made me feel like i could actually start making videos one day!

Aaron Conway

Great video Alanna, that was really interesting! A few years ago I thought about trying to be a YouTuber but then I remembered I don’t like talking, so I stuck to photography 😂📸

Gem

Really interesting and informative high-level explanation of what's involved. Typically how many hours work is involved for your Tuesday videos?
