September Book Club

Hey guys! I mentioned this book in my last Patreon video and I'll be reading it for Sept - in case anyone else wants to join! (You can buy it from Amazon here if you're interested)

Shout out to Will on Patreon for recommending it, I'm already a handful of chapters in!

It's been really easy to read, easy to understand but still an interesting story and unique characters. I've never seen the movie either, which helps! The chapters are SMALL which I love - makes picking up the book "for just a chapter or two" really easy.

Anyway, I'll be reading this for Sept and will let you know how it went at the end of month! Would love to her your reviews then, too! (#nospoilers yet!)

Did not know this, am buying it now. Thanks

Donal

I'm two chapters in and I can see why you referenced John Wyndham!

Oh dang, cool!!

Cheers pal, hope you enjoy the book!

Oh, and also worth a read by the same author is Fellside, though it's subject matter and setting are different.

Malcolm Lawrence

I read the book when it was first published in 2014 and found that it grabbed my attention far more than I expected, to the extent that I made sure I caught the film version too. Can't say much more without spoilers, but as it's been a while I'll dust off my paperback version and have another read. There's a sort of 'follow-up' set in the same world as the original called 'The Boy on the Bridge' by the same author, although that never grabbed me in quite the same way.

Malcolm Lawrence

sorry just another point the next book in the series is called THE BOY ON THE BRIDGE. have fun

hi all just wanted to say if you dont like reading and are more into listening the book in on audiobooks for $31 or $17 if you have amazon prime membership.

I've downloaded this book to my kindle and will let you know what I think when I finish it! Hope you're doing well and not overdoing the scotch lol!! Stay safe and happy.

I’ve never read the book, but have seen the film and enjoyed it. In fact I watched some of the filming as it was outside of my office window in the centre of Birmingham

Andrew Thompson

I read this already and watched the film too. I think both are good. The book for me is reminiscent of John Wyndham’s books in its tone. I wont mention what books it has things in common to in its plot as that would be **spoilers**. Hmn, I rarely re-read but I just finished a book and if this is on my Kindle maybe I will this time. Enjoy your read!
