You're right - I found some Goldfish and combined them with red grapes, and the flavors are very complimentary! A kid favorite with our family is S'mores- just melt a large marshmallow between two graham crackers and a thin piece of chocolate bar. This is great for camping or backyard parties. You can do it with long sticks over an open fire - which can become messy but that's part of the fun! I want S'more!

Rice Krispie treats are so yummy. I used to bring them to work functions as my like go to, but then my friend decided to make them with browned butter and bourbon, so like now I can't bring mine because her's are like the fancier ones. Rude.

Anything to get sugar into children.

Wayne Thurston

Oh wow, never seen those before!

This is one from my childhood, https://www.bestrecipes.com.au/recipes/chocolate-crackles-recipe/66a9ufij

You're absolutely right

Adventures and Naps

Even though there isn't a difference flavour wise, the red, white and green Rice Krispies at Christmas time hit different

Cheers pal, really appreciate it

Thanks Adam!!

Wasn't sure if we were going to see a video this week so what a great bonus this is! As usual it is controlled chaos in the kitchen but somehow it all turns out all ok in the end. It looked way too sweet and sickly for me, i could just about handle the chocolate cornflake cakes i used to make with my kids. Thanks and stay happy.

Adam Clark

Made these as a kid many times with mom. Sometimes they turned out well and sometime not. Chocolate Rice Crispies came out just as I was getting β€œtoo old” to do this with mom, but chocolate won me over. We did use other cereals since mom bought what was on sale. These are great made with Fruity Pebbles too.

3 things. 1. Have you seen Vampire Academy? That's a good bad movie to add to your list. 2. My mom used to make these homemade Eat-more bars when I was young. If you remember Eat-more chocolate bars, I'm not sure if they even still make those. 3. A video I like seeing people do is reacting to embarrassing old photos and videos.

One day, Alanna, you may make a video that doesn't make me smile. Today is not that day... This is yet another example of why you're the undisputed queen of cooking on YouTube...!! Well done and stay safe and strong... πŸ’œ

SaharaGadge .

Lass, you are an absolute treasure.

Certainly when I was growing up, marshmallows weren’t very common. Could be to do with the sugar content too :-)

David Young

Looks yummy and yes as a kid made Rice Krispie treads with chocolate also Cornflakes mostly at Easter with a mini egg or 3

Jason Drury

Probably right up there with the marshmallow fluff sandwich 😁

Benjamin Myers

It seems like chocolate Rice Krispies were the common one! I wonder if that's because marshmallows are more common in N. America?

Adventures and Naps

Wow, sounds incredible!!

Adventures and Naps

I bet they were great with coco-pops!!

Adventures and Naps

πŸ˜‚ so true!!

Adventures and Naps

I feel this lol

Adventures and Naps

Ooh, never made a pie before!!

Adventures and Naps

ugh I bet the M&Ms were perfect!! Yum!!

Adventures and Naps

Fairy bread sounds terrible and wonderful!!

Adventures and Naps

That was Great and Hilarious! I think in the UK doing Chocolate Cornflake bird nest things was the main one that we did or people I knew (occasionally with a mini egg in around easter). Looks like that was a lot of work so you got some exercise too with all that stirring! Hope the pan wasn't too bad (if it was in Future film it and it can be "Pan Cleaning: the 4 hr spectacular 🀣)

In Australia we'd use Rice Bubbles to make Chocolate Crackles. Similar concept to rice krispie treats, but instead of marshmallow the recipe calls for a product called Copha, which is essentially solidified coconut oil, to bind everything together. Kind of greasy but a staple at children's birthday parties, along with Fairy Bread (buttered white bread covered with sprinkles).

Benjamin Myers

We just made Rice Krispie treats for Canada Day with red and white sprinkles! Also we tried adding a cup of M&Ms when adding the cereal and now I don’t know that we can ever go back to plain Rice Krispie squares now...

Tanks for your smiles and for doing what you do for us !!

Hi, Alanna, that was brilliant. Thank you for doing that. Next video Alanna cleans the kitchen and the three after that Alanna cleans the saucepan. Love to see your cooking videos. How about apple and blackberry pie next. Stay well, stay safe and big cyber hugs from us all. Looking forward to your next video soon.

Had to buy bigger shirts yesterday, time for some diet foods.

Hi Alanna. The pouring of the rice krispies so funny. I have the same issue opening bags of rice, oats & pouring them in to storage jars-goes everywhere. Made chocolate krispies as a kid, never seen marshmallow krispies before. The cleaning is probably why people buy them rather than make them. As a kid you happily eat the krispies but you don't see your parents crying in the kitchen whilst using a blow torch trying to get the remains off the pan, although you might see a brand new pan arrives a week later.

Ian

That was hilarious, thank you (-: My favourite treat as a kid was lardy cake - it was the 70s, and I was an odd child.

Dr Philip J Naylor

Rice Krispies Treats with an A&N twist! You have made Snap, Crackle, and Pop Very Proud... Wasn't a big fan of Fluffernutter sandwiches when I was a kid. We use to make English Muffin Pizza and Jello Instant Pudding in school...

Steve Mikre

Growing up we used many things for them not always rice crispies. Frosties, cornflakes, or my personal favourite coco-pops. My mother used to bake a lot when I was younger, so there was always something sweet laying around. Probably why I love baking so much, reminds me of better days.

Mohegan13

I remember making these as a kid with my mum. We used to make it with pink and white marshmallows and butter toffee. They were called Chewy Wullies.

Don Swanson

David

They are a common thing here, I made them and most of my friends did, but with chocolate not marshmallows although there was always a debate about if cornflakes or rice krispies were best

Simon

Chocolate Rice Krispie treats was perhaps the first thing I ever made - but I think mine were just butter, chocolate and Rice Krispies, without the marshmallows (much easier, as it doesn't do the stringing, but it would be sooo much less amusing to watch!). Coconut macaroons and fairy cakes were perhaps second and third - surprising I have any teeth left! Did you ever manage to clean the pan?
