Chapter 0814: Guzzlord—Today, You Have to Beat Me Up(Three-in-One)

“A massive Ultra Wormhole has appeared over the Melemele Sea!”

“Energy readings are in—it’s the newly discovered Ultra Beast!”

“There are three of them at the same time?!”

“It’s the Ultra Beast that can devour almost all matter—extremely dangerous—Guzzlord!!”

Inside the Space Research Institute at Aether Paradise, machines beeped urgently as researchers hurried about amid a rapidly escalating crisis.

“Burnet, what anomaly is it this time?” Section Chief Wicke entered the institute, looking tense.

“Look here—three massive Ultra Wormholes have opened in the Alola Region at once—”

Professor Burnet, jacket tied at her waist and freshly back from fieldwork, lifted her solemn gaze and pointed at a giant display screen.

Live surveillance footage showed the locations of all three Ultra Wormholes.

Three towering, sky-darkening Guzzlord rampaged across the Alola Region, cosmic monsters seemingly bursting from fractured space, already causing heavy casualties!

“Guzzlord, an extremely dangerous Ultra Beast, has appeared simultaneously at the Melemele Sea, Manalo Stadium, and near the Pokémon School,” Professor Burnet stated.

“Civilians haven’t yet been evacuated. These three Guzzlord must be stopped—otherwise the consequences will be catastrophic!”

“Three Ultra Beasts at once…” Wicke’s pupils contracted as she stared at the screen. “Burnet, why are two of them white?!”

“Those are shiny forms of Guzzlord,” Burnet explained. “The one near Pokémon School and the one at Manalo Stadium are both shiny—the black Guzzlord from the Melemele Sea appears to be their leader. Together, they created Ultra Wormholes and invaded Alola!”

Wicke tilted her head back in disbelief, then spun to issue rapid-fire orders:

“Contact the police and the Ultra Defense Team immediately. Evacuate the civilians and send in trainer reinforcements!”

“Yes, ma’am!” Aether Foundation staff in white uniforms snapped to attention.

Surveillance zoomed in on Manalo Stadium, where four Island Kahuna happened to be holding a meeting. Nanu, Olivia, Hala, and Hapu now faced the gigantic white Guzzlord, bracing for battle.

“Uaaaaaahhh!!”

The white Guzzlord roared, opening its massive jaws and stretching out two fists, which glowed with blinding white light, crashing down with titanic force!

The Island Kahuna moved as one, leaping clear as the ground shattered beneath the blows, Manalo Stadium rumbling with the impact!

White light gathered ominously—white Guzzlord charged up a Hyper Beam like a cannon from hell, bellowing with apocalyptic fury.

Faced with this titan, the Island Kahuna looked grim.

This was… a Champion-class Guzzlord—enormous, with endless stamina, and an absolute menace!

Nanu, a former International Police officer, narrowed his eyes and said,

“That humanoid face on its head is the weak point.”

“We’ll use our Z-Moves!” Hau declared, raising his hand.

“Understood!” replied the other kahuna in unison.

The institute’s screen shifted again, now showing the Pokémon School.

The tension on staff faces was palpable.

Younger students were scrambling to escape as faculty, Principal Samson Oak, and even Pokémon like Drampa and Alolan Exeggutor joined in to evacuate the children.

Blocking the path of the white Guzzlord was Professor Kukui and the “Ultra Defense Team” reserves.

Kukui led the group, eyes sharp with warning as they stood prepared.

“What is that…” Ash looked up at the colossal beast, remembering past adventures.

“I’ve seen this Ultra Beast before, in a parallel world!” he shouted.

“What?” Professor Kukui twisted around in surprise.

“It destroyed an entire city in that world,” Ash said through gritted teeth. “If we don’t stop it, Hau’oli City will meet the same fate!”

Kukui’s gaze hardened, and he rallied the students, shouting,

“Everyone, look after each other—Ash, you’re with me!”

“Yes!”

“Kukui… can you really stop a Guzzlord…” Burnet muttered in doubt.

This Guzzlord rivaled the Island Guardians in power—it could devour incoming attacks as easily as anything else.

Burnet’s worry bubbled up, but there was no time for second thoughts—she had to trust Kukui and summon strength from every side.

“Switch the camera to the Melemele Sea—now!”

Burnet called out, “That Guzzlord is the toughest. We must send reinforcements immediately!”

“Professor Burnet…” a researcher said quietly.

“What’s the hold-up?!”

The researcher, sheepish, replied: “Looks like the Guzzlord at the Melemele Sea… has already been dealt with…”

Burnet: ?

Section Chief Wicke and Professor Burnet stood together, both staring up at the massive screen in bewilderment.

On screen, the huge, black Guzzlord was motionless in the seawater.

Its pumpkin-like body was giving off white smoke, as if already unconscious, jaws slack, while the humanoid figure atop its “head” was completely out cold.

“Energy readings have dropped to safe levels!” one researcher shouted.

“Confirming—Guzzlord is unable to battle! Danger neutralized!”

“It almost looks… peaceful as it leaves…” another researcher mumbled.

Wicke and Burnet stood frozen, giant question marks over their heads.

“Wasn’t the Melemele Sea Guzzlord supposed to be the most dangerous one?” Burnet asked.

“The energy data supports that, yes,” the researcher replied.

“How long was it active?”

“Two minutes. Then it passed out!”

“Who did this…?”

Burnet was dazed. “Play the footage back!”

……

“Uaaaaaaaaah!!”

The Ultra Wormhole shattered through the sky in a tangle of white light, out of which burst a monstrous hulk that blotted out the sun.

Guzzlord crashed down into the waters, hurling up tidal waves, twin arms shooting from its jaws as it roared at the unassuming trainers on the beach.

I—Guzzlord—will devour the Alola Region today!

But first, I’ll snack on these three in front of me!

The humanoid head atop Guzzlord glared savagely, arms in its maw glowing with draconic purple shadows—Dragon Rush!

The black-haired young man slid his notebook into his shirt, hair and clothes fluttering as he calmly said,

“Sylveon, Moonblast.”

Sylveon’s ribbons fluttered, eyes imperious, as the bow gathered a brilliant, crystalline ball of destructive white light.

The brown-haired youth, one hand in his pocket, tossed a Poké Ball and clenched it tightly, eyes fierce:

“Charizard, Dragon Pulse!”

Charizard’s tail flame blazed higher, chest expanding, eyes flashing as it spat a tangled burst of roaring purple Dragon Pulse!

The young man in the red vest lowered the brim of his cap, eyes flashing from under the shadow as he commanded,

“Venusaur, Sludge Bomb!”

Venusaur’s plant unfurled its petals, surging with lethal purple toxin—deadly venom even Guzzlord couldn’t swallow!

Three attacks launched as one, the entire island quaking; even legendary Pokémon would shudder at such a barrage—

Yet Guzzlord roared on!

“Uaaaaaahhh!!”

Watch me swallow them all!!

In Guzzlord’s eyes, the moves erupted in a flood of white light—he opened his gaping maw and clamped shut, consuming the attacks whole.

A gentle wind passed over the sea—then, a strange equilibrium.

Guzzlord: “……”

Natsume, Red, Blue Oak: “……”

Guzzlord looked down at his glowing round belly, then back up in dawning confusion.

Hmm?

Guzzlord’s giant pumpkin body began to shine with a terrifying, nuclear-white brilliance!

BOOMMMMMM!!!

A deafening roar went up as seawater bubbled and rushed onto the beach. Tidal waves crashed and fragments of the Ultra Wormhole rained everywhere.

Guzzlord floated in the water, absolutely still, body emitting clouds of Burn Up smoke…

This was a Guzzlord that had transcended base instincts, facing three Battle Legends at once—a true general of the Pokémon world!

Yet Guzzlord… could not rise again!

The infamous Guzzlord… gave up on conscious thought.

The waves lapped the shore, calm returning at last to Melemele Beach.

Apart from the huge, unconscious Guzzlord soaking in the water, it was as peaceful as any day.

“This…”

Natsume looked at the Guzzlord, done for in less than three minutes, at a loss for words.

Are all Guzzlord this… reckless?

“What kind of Pokémon was that?” Blue Oak frowned.

“Looks like it’s an Ultra Beast invading Alola—and just happened to run right into us,” Red said.

“I see… What a shame,” Blue Oak said, a little disappointed.

Seems like he and Natsume-sensei wouldn’t be finishing their battle after all.

Sirfetch’d, standing by Natsume’s side, breathed a huge sigh of relief.

Thank goodness—no need to keep fighting now!

Blue Oak seemed to radiate bitterness, head drooping, hands in his pockets as black lines twisted behind him.

Yellow hurried to lighten things up:

“Senior Blue Oak, there are Ultra Beast incursions elsewhere too!”

“Really.” Blue Oak glanced at the fallen Guzzlord, finally a little comforted. “I see—it’s not just here…”

“It’s pretty urgent.” Green lowered his phone after checking the news.

“There are three Guzzlord in total, one near the Pokémon School—and that’s really close to us!”

BOOMMM!!

Everyone turned to the source of the explosion—a green-covered hill now pouring out white smoke.

A white Guzzlord, head higher than the trees, glared around, roaring furiously:

“Uaaaaaahhh!!”

I can sense it—my boss has lost all ability to fight!

Don’t worry, boss, I’ll avenge you!

“The Power of One” rippled with Guzzlord’s feelings. Natsume fell quiet.

Such touching loyalty among brothers!

“Kartana, open the Ultra Wormhole wider. Darkrai, help send that Guzzlord in the sea back!” Natsume instructed.

Kartana nodded, unsheathing its blade—the Ultra Wormhole was slicing shut, so it split it wider again.

Darkrai floated unwillingly, blue light in its eyes, then lightly tapped a finger. The unconscious Guzzlord was enveloped in a blue aura of Confusion, not resisting at all. With psychic power, Darkrai lifted Guzzlord and tossed it into the Ultra Wormhole.

Shaking off the job, Darkrai let mist swirl around its sapphire glare—a cleanup professional, ever smoother at handling emergencies.

Done!

Pokémon Center’s emergency news confirmed it: both other Guzzlord were shiny, one at the School, one at Manalo Stadium.

With the stadium guarded by four Kahuna, Natsume-sensei’s group mounted their flying partners and headed for the School.

“Manalo Stadium really can’t catch a break…” Natsume thought.

The forest sped below—the looming white Guzzlord grew ever nearer.

As the ground came into clear view, Natsume even spotted a pink, fierce-looking form.

“No way… Bewear?!”

……

“Pikachu, Thunderbolt!!”

Pikachu flashed dazzling lightning—Guzzlord gulped it down in one bite.

Kukui sent out Braviary; razor winds from its wings were also instantly swallowed.

Sophocles crouched with a computer, sweat dripping down his forehead:

“It’s useless—only Fairy types can really counter this Guzzlord!”

“What about Fighting types?” Kiawe asked.

“Better than Electric or Flying, but… why do you ask?” Sophocles looked up.

Kiawe pointed at the upright pink shape ahead.

Students and Kukui stared, exclaiming in unison:

“Bewear?!”

Bewear turned, looked at the students, then up at Guzzlord. Gold flames licked around its body, its Baby-Doll Eyes shimmering dangerously.

“A totem aura… and it's strong!” Kukui said, sweat running down his temple.

“Uaaaaaahhh!!”

The white Guzzlord opened its massive jaws, the two arms in its mouth lashing out like sledgehammers, punching straight at Bewear.

BANG!!

The ground shook—students staggered in awe, eyes wide with shock.

Bewear gripped the arms tight with both paws; the golden flames flared hotter!

White Guzzlord: “……”

What about my pride!?

“Wooo!!”

With a piercing cry, Bewear’s fist radiated with Hammer Arm’s power—swinging down with force to shatter mountains.

BOOM!!

The skyscraper-high Guzzlord was sent plowing back through the hill, carving deep trenches with its feet!

Kukui and the students’ jaws hit the floor:

“??!”

No way—Bewear can solo Guzzlord now!?

“Ash.” Kukui snapped, “We’re backing up Bewear!”

“Yeah!” Ash nodded, just in time to cover his cap from a gust of wind. “This wind…”

“Uaaaaaahhh!!”

White Guzzlord looked up at a rocket-propelled Bewear mech hurtling down from the sky.

“Bewear—and a Bewear mech?!” gasped the students.

In that moment, lights seemed to rain down.

“You dared utter your cry—”

“Then in our great mercy—let us answer you!”

“Bewear shall be protected—by Team Rocket, meow!”

“Wobbuffet!!”

Team Rocket’s eyes shone with resolve.

Even if Bewear always chases them right back to the tree hollow.

Even if it’s never really their choice.

But still… Bewear is family!

Bewear’s eyes lit up at the mech’s scent, shouted “Wooo!” and attacked in sync with the Team Rocket machine, charging the white Guzzlord!

BOOM!!

From high on Latias’ back, Natsume spied the battle, gaze drawn to the Bewear mecha.

I know that suit—it’s Sevanger from Zeta! (just kidding)

He stroked Sylveon in his arms and said softly:

“Sylveon, Hyper Beam. Can you hit Guzzlord from here?”

“Sylveon!” Sylveon bared her teeth fiercely.

“Be careful, Latias—let Sylveon use Hyper Beam!”

“Latias~”

The two little ones coordinated like a laser cannon battle team. Sylveon stood on Latias’ head, gathering a dazzling orb of white light in her mouth!

CRASH!!

The Hyper Beam struck the enormous white Guzzlord from the side, its bottomless health bar plummeting at light speed!

Team Rocket, students, and Kukui all looked up, shocked:

“Sylveon—and Natsume-sensei!”

“Ash! Use your and Pikachu’s 10,000,000 Volt Thunderbolt—push it back into the Ultra Wormhole!”

Natsume called out, “Yell your Z-Move out loud!”

“Got it…”

Ash spun his cap, then tossed it to land on Pikachu’s head. Crossing his wrists, his Z-Bracelet flared with prismatic light!

“Pikachu—!”

Pikachu surged with golden aura, crossed its arms, feet planted, cap on head, mouth twitching in a confident smile: “Pikachu!”

“10,000,000 Volt Thunderbolt!!” Ash roared.

Pikachu erupted with lightning more powerful than Thunderbolt, a torrent smashing into white Guzzlord.

Bewear and Bewear Mecha dodged as Kartana sliced open an Ultra Wormhole, forcing Guzzlord backward!

“Uaaaaaahhh!!”

Guzzlord struggled and howled in pain.

Don’t get cocky!

My little brother will avenge both me and my older brother!!

BOOOM!!

The 10,000,000 Volt Thunderbolt engulfed Guzzlord completely, the impact hurling it into the Ultra Wormhole.

The Z-Move’s ultimate aura blasted outward, beams of light closing the rift.

“We really did it…” Kukui murmured.

“We defeated Guzzlord!” Mallow cheered.

As the light faded, Ash and Pikachu panted for breath, then smiled brightly, looking to where Natsume and the others had landed.

“Natsume-sensei, Senior Red, Blue Oak Master… I did it!”

“Yep.” Natsume gave a small nod and praised,

“Well done—next time, try trashing Paul’s electricity engine Electivire.”

“Huh?” Ash scratched his head, bewildered.

“Natsume-sensei.”

Kukui glanced at Burnet’s message and said,

“The Guzzlord at Manalo Stadium was sent back to the Ultra Wormhole by the Kahunas’ Z-Moves!”

“I see.” Natsume understood at once.

A champion-class Guzzlord would barely hold up against four Elite Four Z-Moves.

Unfortunately… the third Guzzlord wouldn’t be able to avenge his brothers.

Natsume tilted his head up, looking where the Ultra Wormhole had faded, and nodded seriously.

Guzzlord, undaunted by any foe, a family of true heroes!

“This Guzzlord invasion was fallout from the Faba incident,”

Kukui said, frowning. “We must close Aether Paradise’s Ultra Wormhole immediately—or even stronger Ultra Beasts will find and invade Alola!”

“I understand. I’ll take Nebby to the Altar of the Sunne tomorrow!” Natsume nodded.

Blue Oak: “Then I’d better head back to the Johto Region.”

There were urgent matters to handle; a battle would have to wait.

Besides, this had been an unexpected fight—visiting Alola was never meant to be long term for Red and Blue Oak.

After all…

Blue Oak’s eyes hardened. I really do have business in Johto.

Considering other threats beyond Guzzlord, and knowing Red and Blue Oak were precious reserves of battle power…

Natsume: “Please stay in Alola a few more days, if you will!”

……

With the crisis resolved, the Space Research Institute began a post-operation summary.

The leading Guzzlord, which appeared in the waters near Melemele, was defeated immediately by Natsume and his companions, unable to do any damage.

The other two Guzzlord didn’t stay on the field for long either, inflicting only minimal harm.

All in all, this battle against the Ultra Beasts ended in a decisive victory for Alola!

But from Guzzlord’s perspective—

That black boss had truly reached the pinnacle of an Ultra Beast’s career.

One against three—a true Legendary Pokémon of this era!

However, the Guzzlord invasion also exposed another problem: Nebby was in urgent need of evolution.

Natsume prepared to depart the next day for the Altar of the Sunne, and received a gift from the Space Research Institute—

A Dragonium Z-Crystal, which filled a missing slot in Natsume’s Z-Crystal collection.

Now, with a box full of gleaming Z-Crystals, only one remained—Icium Z—to complete the set.

Additionally, after witnessing Ash and Pikachu’s exclusive Z-Move,

Natsume’s specialized Gengar Z-Move training had made remarkable progress.

Ash’s special Z-Move for Pikachu evolved from the standard Electric-type Z, but the most important factor was still the Ultimate Aura—“light.”

The light from the island guardians was not enough; Gengar would need an even more powerful Ultimate Aura to use its own signature Z-Move.

This journey with Nebby to the Altar of the Sunne might provide that opportunity.

From multiple attempts so far, the Gengar-exclusive Z-Move was already beginning to take shape. Its main effects would cause damage and deliver a Shadow Tag, inflicting either Confusion, Poison, or Paralysis—much like the move “Triple Attack.”

However, what concerned Natsume was not the move’s power, but a much more serious question.

“If this Gengar Z-Move training really succeeds…”

Natsume turned over a Darkinium Z and a Ghostium Z in his hand, then glanced at Gengar, who was still happily licking a Poisonium Z.

“Gengar(*⊙⊙)”

Natsume fell into deep thought:

“What should I call Gengar’s Z-Move?”
