Chapter 0760: The Super Demon God’s Legendary

Serena cutting her hair marks a crucial milestone in the growth of the Symbol Girl.

Natsume’s fondness for the anime “Pokémon XY” truly stems from how—whether Ash or Serena—they both managed to mature on their journey.

In addition, Serena’s new short hairstyle is a significant timestamp.

After all, in the soon-to-come “Hoopa and the Clash of Ages” movie, Serena will already be in her short-haired form...

Natsume’s expression is ambiguous; he slowly shakes his head.

By then, I should already be on my honeymoon to Alola with Cynthia.

Maybe I’ll even see Lillie, Lana, Mallow… Life is looking better and better.

A minor problem like Hoopa? Just leave it for the real rookies to handle!

Dawn breaks over the sea, painting it with golden light. Ash and Serena stand together on the pier, Pikachu and Fennekin in their arms, exchanging a glance and then a smile.

Thanks to Natsume’s help.

Freed from their emotional burdens, Ash and Serena continue their travels!

“Rotom... Navigation, take us back to the hotel.”

Natsume-sensei lets out a lazy yawn, pedaling away on his Rotom Bike, his figure fading into the distance—just a wanderer passing through.

“Time for a power nap.”

“Beep... Continually providing navigation for you, Rotom~”

Not long after, Natsume glances out at the shimmering sea. The ferry sounds a long horn, and he can’t help but sigh:

“I never told you to pick the water route!”

……

Sinnoh Region, Sandgem Town.

A beachfront estate with adjacent ocean views.

Cynthia lies on a beach chair on the third-floor balcony, long, snowy-white legs extended, glancing down to flip pages in her book.

This house is one where Natsume once stayed for a long period, originally lent to him by the wealthy patron Cynthia herself.

During rest periods, Cynthia often returns here for vacation, to research mythology, or to train Pokémon.

Thanks to ‘firsthand data’ provided by Natsume and the Rotom, Cynthia’s research work has progressed smoothly.

From Sinnoh mythology, to Hoenn mythology, Unova mythology and more, she has achieved remarkable breakthroughs—

After all, Natsume has personally encountered these Legendary Pokémon.

Just recently, Cynthia was planning to delve into the Kalos legends and casually asked Natsume about “the King and Floette,” “the Bird of Death and the Stag of Life,” and many other mysteries.

The next day, Natsume sent her a photo of himself with AZ.

“What is this?” Cynthia asked blankly at the time.

“A photo of King AZ,” Natsume answered, deadpan. “It’s definitely clearer than the old drawings in the ancient texts, right?”

“I mean—how could you possibly have a photo of him!” Cynthia sighed helplessly.

“Oh... I ran into him during my travels.”

“...And then?”

“Steven met him too; we were traveling together.” Natsume paused. “By the way, I also have Pokédex data on Yveltal and Xerneas—want a copy?”

Cynthia covered her forehead, paused, then spoke calmly: “Alright, send it over.”

Soon after, Cynthia’s phone was bombarded by a storm of messages from her grandmother Carolina.

Demanding to know how she got Pokédex data on the Kalos legendary Pokémon, shocked that AZ’s legend turned out to be real, and that AZ himself is still alive... and so on.

Cynthia pushed it all onto Natsume—

Considering all Natsume’s feats, Carolina didn’t press further, but her satisfaction with her granddaughter’s chosen partner only grew.

This time, taking her role as a mythology scholar, Cynthia came across a different Kalos legend via stone tablets unearthed in the Sinnoh region.

Rumor claims that in ancient times, Regigigas dragged landmasses apart, causing Kalos and Sinnoh to become separated. People feared Regigigas’s strength, enshrined it within a temple, and used Arceus’s power to seal it away, though some legends say Regigigas simply ran out of energy and fell into slumber.

People felt awe toward Regigigas—

But toward another demon god, they felt only fear.

Cynthia’s brow furrowed slightly; her gaze swept across the ancient texts, slender fingers turning the page.

It was as if she saw, during times of chaos and war, that towering demon whose size blotted out the sky.

Legend has it this being stood several stories tall, its face hideous and terrifying, legs and tail strong, six arms, and a gigantic black hole in its chest—able to devour everything, or release catastrophes and ferocious beasts.

Records say it was initially worshiped as a deity; whatever people wished for—gold, treasure, crops, land—their wishes were always granted.

But soon, they discovered these gifts came at a price—a price exacted to satisfy the demon's lust for wanton destruction.

Human greed only fed the demon, making it even stronger.

Eventually, an entire kingdom was wiped out by its hand.

Unable to bear the devastation, Arceus appeared, imprisoned the demon’s violent urges, and left behind only a child’s innocence.

To this day, the demon god has been sealed for a thousand years—this legend is scarcely known...

Cynthia’s grey eyes flickered. She closed the ancient tome and let out a gentle sigh.

“Milotic~?” Milotic, sensing her mood, glided its cream-colored body closer.

“I’m fine,” she smiled, stroking Milotic’s neck. “Just reflecting on an old, forgotten story.”

Hoopa is the symbol of human desire.

Desire can create—or destroy.

Humans are selfish: always asking Hoopa for more, yet blaming it for all their misfortunes.

But surely some Trainers are unselfish—mirroring the demon’s childlike innocence.

This legend... Natsume would definitely find it interesting...

Cynthia pondered, took out her mobile phone, snapped a picture of the ancient text’s cover, and sent it over.

Moments later, her phone buzzed.

[Natsume-sensei: What’s this?]

[Cabbage Ice Cream: An even older Kalos legend, pieced back together from a handful of ancient scrolls.]

[Natsume-sensei: What’s the gist?]

[Cabbage Ice Cream: The Super Demon God of the Rings.]

[Natsume-sensei: (Opponent is typing…)]

[Natsume-sensei: Gengar terrified .jpg]

“There’s a photocopy; do you want it?” Cynthia asked.

Natsume’s feelings were complicated.

The Super Demon God of the Rings!

That legendary being who can summon seven Legendary Pokémon at will—the ultimate gacha master!

The calamity it caused in Kalos was immense, with countless legendary moments. In the end, only Arceus was able to resolve the crisis—Hoopa!

Wait...

Natsume stroked his chin.

I’m pretty sure I can summon as many Legendary Pokémon as Hoopa...

But Hoopa can shoulder the consequences of ordering around such monsters.

Steven commanding just the Regi trio nearly killed him instantly...

If I summoned that many Legendary Pokémon myself—let alone commanded them—even with Victini’s help, my time on this planet would be very limited.

Natsume decided he’d better study this further. He cleared his throat and said:

“If possible, could you send me that photocopy?”

“Of course.” Cynthia smiled, her eyes twinkling.

The copy Cynthia sent over detailed the Kalos mythology surrounding Hoopa.

It matched almost exactly what Natsume remembered... The legend even mentioned a group of ancient survivors.

The people who worshipped Rayquaza were known as the Draconids.

Those who worshipped Arceus were called the Ancient Overcome Clan.

Within this clan, its members possessed “The Power of One.”

This kind of special ability is extremely rare in modern times, but in ancient days was practically commonplace.

Naturally, “The Power of One” varied in strength.

Priests and clan leaders possessed even greater mastery, with only the chosen Messenger personally recognized by Arceus surpassing them.

Natsume fell into deep thought.

That Messenger who defeated the avatar of Arceus...which level of “The Power of One” was that?

You definitely wouldn’t want to discuss this in front of the Overcome Clan—it’d get your entire family hunted down... Not that there are many left in the clan anyway.

“Arceus is still slumbering.”

Natsume looked skyward.

“A single Pixie Plate can’t defeat the Super Demon God, and even a Master Ball would struggle to land... Might as well just pack up my belongings first.”

Boat ticket’s already purchased, and league champion duties handed over.

When it comes to making a getaway, Natsume is a real pro!
