I got some film back from me in the studio about this time last year with K-dog (Kevin) and Big-E (Elliott) !

I remember it was one of our first sessions working on the demos that would eventually get sent out to the label that ultimately hated them and wrecked my entire world.

I always see artists I admire on instagram posting aesthetically pleasing film shots of them just casually making a record and looking cool. I remember on this day, I so desperately wanted these photos to be like that. I thought I'd develop them, put them on my instagram and look back at them thinking "awww, that's when it all started"

It is, in some ways, when it all started. But now, I look back at these photos with so much baggage. It's not that they make me cringe, but almost. I was just so naive, still.

I had a seizure the day before and had a near death experience that was pretty traumatizing. But the demos had to be delivered by a certain day and we were on a pretty strict timeline. I remember Kevin said he'd feed me applesauce and wrap me like a burrito in a blanket but I had to be there. So funny to think about now, no wonder I'm in this state of healing my nervous system and loving the Void.

Kevin's studio always smells like pumpkin spice candles and feels like a therapists office. These boys were so willing to go all in on helping me bring my songs to life. I'm so grateful for them but still working through the trauma and embarrassment of the first half of 2022.

One day, I'll be cool and make record.
