That was Rupal, right!? I thought he looked familiar! This was really good for me to watch. I came out in 2016, but I still struggle back and forth, like maybe I'm Bi, thinking that would be easier. But the truth is the truth, and I like women. This was very well done, delivered the message in an interesting way. The Acting and the writing were great! Aloso loved the way they used color.

As comical as everything is presented, much of it isn't exaggerated when it comes to real life conversion camps. They really do do things like having people "perform" stereotypicall male/female roles, dress in exaggerated clothing styles, etc. As a follow-up, I recommend watching "The Miseducation of Cameron Post", from 2018. It's a much more dramatic look at a conversion camp in the '80s.

I don't remember when or how I first stumbled on it, and I don't think that I (a straight male with a low tolerance for camp) am in the movie's target audience, but I'm a sucker for both satirically outrageous comedy and sincere romance, so the way this balances the ridiculous with the heartfelt is irresistible to me.

A movie that was lambasted by mainstream critics on its release, and some people today still don't "get it". Depending on what review site you go to this film can swing wildly from 30% to 5 stars.
