Order in Tier doesn't matter.

Garen and especially Zac is more of a special pick, I don't expect it to be good every single game but they're worth picking up.

ur right im overcomplicating it thank u

Christian King

ok thank u

Sbabotto

I think she's just balanced pretty much. Struggles into killing tanks, struggles into long range, struggles if she misses her abilities but at the same time can be very oppressive into dash champions, excels more into low range characters etc.

Nemesis

I don't really want to tell you the exact champions, ultimately the preference is on you. All these champions are good, with TF probably being the easiest and highest reward.

Nemesis

Hi Nemesis, what do u think about vex in this patch? she is in a bad spot?

Sbabotto

To me what you need seems to just be 1. pick a champion you find fun and is simultaneously good 2. play the game a lot to learn the champion

Nemesis

Hey nemesis another question sry, when should I pick swain, brand, Tristana, and tf? Im trying to round out my champion pool, sry for the open ended question. Loving your streams and insight on this post, highly appreciate it tyty!!

Ain

Hello nemesis this will be a bit of a long one so I hope you still respond but I was a kassadin otp trying to branch out now into more traditional meta mids but being subpar on every other character is very demoralizing (especially ranged champs) and I want to learn to play the game properly. How should I go about integrating champs into my pool and stuff while also relearning the game etc. I really want to make it to a masters level again playing other stuff what would you do to improve/ overcome this predicament if it were you? I have been trying to brainstorm a strategy but I just get caught up and feel like some guidance would help

Christian King

Yeah but if i look at the tier list i dont know what is blindpickable and what champ is really rewarding the more skill i get. Iam emerald atm.

Pyfez

I think he is a bit weaker nowdays compared to couple of months ago, however, he can work if you're good. I don't like picking Sylas in every game, I think the champion is much stronger when he can steal good ults. Build lich bane, very OP item on Sylas. As for converting leads, hard to give advice on that since it really depends on context of the game. Once you get ahead, try to make only calculated decisions that have a high % to go in favour of you.

Nemesis

What's your ELO? Take a look at the tierlist and see if you like something from there.

Nemesis

Hi. What do you think of Sylas right now? I'm enjoying him, but finding it difficult to convert leads (diamond elo)

cabbage

Hey nemesis. I feel dumb asking this question but i want to ask sb like you personally bcs everybody is saying deffirent things. I am searching for a champ in mid to otp. The thing is i want to can always play him as a blindpick and it would be nice if the champ would be high rewarding the better i get with him and should be able to play in high elo with. If you dont answer this auestion i would understand it. Thank you tho. Have a nice day :)

Pyfez

I think AP Kog has been weak for quite a while and don't really see any reason to play him over something like Xerath

Nemesis

Every champion is technically viable, the better question is if it's optimal for a player like you? I would say no. Ezreal is a very complicated and high skill cap champion, where even best players in the world struggle to play to him to perfection. AI would be able to pilot Ezreal to perfection, but sadly we humans aren't AI. You can play him, but I wouldn't recommend it.

Nemesis

Do you think Kog Maw mid is playable since Malignance seems pretty op? I reaaly enjoy playing this champ but my team makes the game hard in emerald

Adrián Salas

Hey Nemesis. I really like playing ezrael but i hate playing adc. So my question is: is ezrael viable on mid or blindpickable if you are very very skillful (mechanicly/makro) with him?

Pyfez

I think she's slightly weak, however, if you play well you can make it work. Make sure to buy Lich Bane first item.

Nemesis

Thoughts on ahri? I'm finding a lot of success on her with malignance in diamond because you can punish/find people out of position constantly.

Shubh

Yes, she scales with player skill. Qiyana starts slowly performing at emerald and ramps up with each rank, becoming better and better since the player piloting her also becomes better.

Nemesis

Smolder is playable in any ELO if you're good enough. The problem is that majority of players playing Smolder aren't proficient at their champion, that is the reason why I don't recommend it to below Master Tier.

Nemesis

Hi neme, is qiyana A tier in emerald and S tier at higher ranks because she is very hard or for some other reason?

Pier Carolango

hey nemesis, is smolder playable in emerald/diamond? ty

Ain

Best build on Anivia is just Rod of Ages - Boots - Malignence/Seraph and then situational. Rod of Ages and Seraph both got buffed quite a bit. Playstyle very depends, in a lot of matchups she actually can win lane but she can die to ganks so gotta be careful how you manage the wave. At level 6, its usually just pushing the wave with ult into looking to roam or harras your opponent via combos. She really wants to be paired with any teammate, since cc champions really benefit from that.

Nemesis

Since you're grandmaster, you could try to get really really good at Hwei. But the champion is very hard to master and low-medium reward, and does play slightly different compared to a Syndra or Orianna. Other than that, if you want to stick to AP Champions something like Twisted Fate, Taliyah, Azir are probably the "closest" you'll feel to Syndra and Orianna imo. Midlane can feel very bad in SoloQ when your support or jungler or both lose, need to find and adapt the way you play consistently each game to find edges

Nemesis

What would you buy on anivia? And what would the playstyle be like?

Francisco Oliveira

Hi Nem, how you doin? Do you have any thoughts on what should I play mid? I used to play CDR Ori/Syndra last season and I felt really good, I was feeling that i had really great impact in my games, but right now with all these changes I don't really see any champ in mid as really good champ to climb and I actually feel like mid kinda sucks rn. Any advices or it is what it is? (I am Grandmaster) Best regards, I'm a really huge fan.

cablui

I see thanks! So kinda shares the similar push into roam playstyle but I guess tristana is way more strong early at doing that while destroying towers fast aswell

Jambo

Tristana in laning phase often just wants to push and look for roams/all ins/tower damage. That's the most I can simplify it

Nemesis

hey Neme! I'm a bit confused as to what tristana should do in the game? I guess she doesn't really play in any way similar to taliyah, can you somehow shortly explain? Or is there an ad pick you would recommend to play with taliyah if i even need an ad pick. I'm currently diamond

Jambo

Since I don't really know what rank you are, I'd suggest checking the tierlist and choosing something from there. You should play only a few champions at max, so you can get good at those and you can then focus to improve in other areas of the game.

Nemesis

Yo Nemesis just a thought on what champ you think is best to start with to be able to learn the fundamentals of mid lane the easiest. I find myself picking all different kinds of champions where I'm struggling to be able to focus on the actual lane phase of the game and rather the champion I'm playing. The only champ I found that somewhat helped me focus more on fundamentals was malzahar but i feel like he is weak in the meta due to items like Kaenic Rookern. Appreciate the content!

Stephen Gillespie

I think on ranged squishy midlaners , double adaptive HP makes a lot of sense. On an assassin, going adaptive in the middle tree can also be fine, it's more of a preference. I recommend also using lolanalytics to check on specific champion if one outperforms the other with a large margin (need to be careful with sample size b eing good though, as someone like Orianna has no games on health shard secondary)

Nemesis

Hello Nemesis, I have a question and not sure where to address it on patreon so I'll post it here: I saw you recently going double HP scaling runes in mid champs and wanted to ask you whether this is more value by default in every game rather than adaptive force or it's dependant on different variables? For example to take it on control mages and stick to adaptive on assassins. Thanks in advance!

Trevor Mad

I've noticed YamatosDeath, among others, playing Galio and TF with this item. Thanks for sharing your toughts !

Sam

Shurelya strength is mainly in cheap cost and MS. Weakness is in lack of mana and no HP. Galio - I haven't seen people play it, although it makes some sense - Galio has no mana issues and the bonus MS + active synergize with his W. TF - makes a lot of sense - all stats are awesome for him, synergy with his W, the weakness again being lack of HP and if he spams too much gold/red cards and Q in lane, he can go OOM, and then he can't ult sidelanes. Therefore proper mana management is very important with that build. Neeko - also haven't seen that build on her yet, and I'm skeptical if that build is ideal on her since you want Protobelt for the active to increase your ult dash. I wouldn't recommend it, there is also no sample size on that build in diamond+ Neeko midlane.

Nemesis

Hello Nemesis, I've observed several high elo players opting for Shurelya as their first item on champions like Galio, TF, or Neeko. I decided to give it a try in Master/GM, and it seems quite effective. Instead of initiating engagements somewhat "alone" with an item like Hextech Belt, you can now propel your entire team forward with you. The stats are comparable, but the added movement speed proves valuable on these champions. Do you have any tought on this "strategy"?

Sam

thank you for the response lemon, appreciate it. you think smolder/karma are worth picking in emerald/diamond?

Ain

I think they're both very blindable. I'm not even sure what I would hate playing against - maybe something like Jax or Malphite would be annoying for Akshan? And for Aurelion Sol, maybe something like Fizz/Katarina/Kassadin/Taliyah is a bit annoying. But everything listed here is winnable.

Nemesis

Every champion requires particular skills to be played well. Neeko does not perform well anywhere but higher ranks. Even though in lower ranks she can use her passive much easier since people are worse at tracking, the reality is that games often there go to lategame where she is bad at. Neeko is also an early-midgame champion, and those champions are not piloted well by lower rank players in lane, therefore she will not be able to get advantages.

Nemesis

Hey Nemesis, when would you NOT pick Akshan and Asol? Not sure if they're blindable in diamond, so wanted to see your opinion.

Ain

I saw that you put Neeko only from masters+, do you think she requires particular skills to be played well?

André Pereira

No I don't, I think both roles are strong, it mainly depends on the context of your matchup you lane against and what their teamcomp/your teamcomp is.

Nemesis

I partially agree with your comment and normally I wouldn't recommend playing Yone in any ELO. I was actually quite surprised to see champions like Yasuo and Yone being very performant in lower ranks. They are also one of most played champions, so the excuse of "it's being played by only mains" doesn't really apply. I think there's many reasons why it works - the average level, especially mechanically, has gone up a lot over the years, just because someone is silver it doesn't mean their mechanics are completely terrible - Yone is straight up one of the most fun champions for majority of people playing this game. I was also considering this, that I don't put only "boring" champions, so people have some more options - Yone player will not be as proficient as a Challenger player, but you also have to understand that the enemies are also bad since it's lower ranks. As a random example, I can imagine a silver Yone player just pressing E and right clicking someone down and missing Q's, but it won't matter and he'll still be successful - it's backed up by data that Yone is performant at those elos, which is ultimately what matters. To be fair, I'd still probably recommend playing other champions than Yone, but if there's any ELO where I can accept an excuse to play Yone, it will be those ranks

Nemesis

I saw it and I think it's quite interesting. I think there's a lot of reasons why it works - the removal of mythic items benefits galio - introduction of new shadowflame and lichbane being very strong is a straight up benefit - cc is often quite OP in high elo, especially when you pair it with your teammates, and high elo does have a lot of teamplay - Galio has recieved quite a few buffs over the past 1-2 years, most notable one the tornado on Q being longer and CD on Q being shorter Ghost Flash - Galio is able to run it due to high natural waveclear from every level, decent base MS and fast backing Aftershock - works well in early stages, but this rune will do absolutely nothing past midgame, but the purpose of the pick is to snowball mainly through early-midgame Nimbus Cloak - Galio has no mana issues and it has slight synergy with Ghost+Flash, so it makes sense It works, it can work in any ELO if you're good enough, personally I think 1 shot burst playstyle Galio is very toxic in League but that is up to Riot to decide

Nemesis

I'm going to make a mini guide on Smolder coming today or by latest tomorrow. Your question will be answered there.

Nemesis

Do you think smolder mid is worse than top because assassins and mages make it harder to scale because of range and burst dmg?

3lvis 22

Hey Nemesis, I don't understand the logic behind yone. You actually put him gold and lower and not anything above? One would expect it to be the other way around. I am silver/gold and the advice i get is 'don't play yone in low elo'. What is your logic here? Regards 1Guvna (long time subscriber)

Guvna

Did you see the Rank 1 EUW player? He's an Galio OTP with 74% win rate over 160+ games on the champ and plays him like an AP assassin. He rushes Dark Seal-Sorcs into Lich Bane-Shadowflame-Deathcap every game and runs Flash Ghost with Aftershock Nimbus Cloak. Thoughts?

Playmaker1500

What’s the proper build on Smolder? I think Shojin is the best starting item but after that I’m not sure what’s better - this weird AP/Bruiser/Tank Build or just Crit?

Kacper

That depends on what the state of the lane is and how everything else on the map is going, generally you want to pair with other teammates because you have cc and a shield. Most of the time, joining skirmishes or looking for roams is more ideal than trying to solo kill your opponent with a champion like Morgana.

Nemesis

In lower elo's you can pretty much pick him into anything, just gotta make sure you don't have full AD teamcomp. When It comes to higher tiers, you gotta be a bit more careful when to pick him, ideally not into too many ranged/kiting characters or champions that have %hp damage are quite bad for him too

Nemesis

What should Morgana be looking to do in lane? just shove and roam?

Tom havranek

Hey Nemesis, when should I pick Garen?
