Another NJPW star evaluating options
Added 2025-12-29 00:36:11 +0000 UTCIt’s that time of year for New Japan Pro Wrestling and their contracts.
Among them is Clark Connors of Bullet Club War Dogs, we’re told. Connors’ deal is set to expire towards the end of January 2026. Connors has not wrestled since November 2.
It is important that we note the natural “Aren’t ALL New Japan contracts up then?” They’re not. A number of NJPW talent actually worked without deals for a number of months in 2025 and re-signed along the way on one year deals. Others signed through the January period.
Fightful reported that David Finlay of Bullet Club War Dogs also sees his contract expire relatively soon. Much like him, we’re told he’s exploring his options amid U.S. interest. New Japan is also hopeful to retain him.

I really hope NJPW can at least sign some of these guys to joint deals, with AEW, so they don't suffer too much. It feels like NJPW is struggling in terms of talent/star power. Between aging stars and an inability/unwillingness to pay enough for free agents, I think the next year or two could be tough for them.
