More details on Alize & Newell-AEW
Added 2025-11-10 22:28:24 +0000 UTCMore details regarding Miranda Alize, Nixon Newell and the AEW situation are filtering in.
After the live stream the two participated in, a number of AEW talent and staff reached out about the situation. It was claimed to Fightful Select that Bryan Danielson even spoke with Nixon Newell and Miranda Alize and wasn’t thrilled about the way the match went on November 1, as it wasn’t the goal that AEW had. Nixon Newell spoke with Fightful and adamantly denied this, saying that she'd never met Danielson.
A number of women in the AEW/ROH locker room contacted Fightful to express their frustration as well, saying that they would have loved for even three minutes on Collision.
The most common thing that we heard about from people in AEW was that likely nobody would have found out about the situation at all had Miranda Alize not tweeted “We have SOOOOOOOO much to say ……………” before Collision even started and started retweeting criticism of their booking. The common belief was that if things actually ended smoothly, it wasn’t smooth anymore once that happened. We do know that a number of AEW/ROH talent attempted to reach out.
In regards to Newell not getting many bookings, something that she said herself, we heard that she had talks earlier this year with a company after that. People of influence in that company stated that the conversations didn’t go well, and they soured on possibly booking her because of some of the asks. It was never specified to us what those were.
Fightful did reach out to Nixon Newell for comment or clarity again today, but didn’t hear back. On November 9, she said “No we had no disagreement, Miranda and I are really the only ones that have the details about how yesterday went.”
In regards to the indie show that we reported about earlier that claimed Newell left before a planned run-in, we saw messages where the promoter spoke to Nixon and was trying to bring her back to later shows, so there was no issue between her and that promoter. It appears to have been a miscommunication between promoter and the talent. Newell stated that she wasn't informed of a potential run-in until after her match, at which point she informed the promoter that her flight was in an hour and she had to leave. A talent had claimed that they spoke to Newell directly about it and that she'd agreed. It appears the travel was not communicated to the other talent. However, Newell was adamant that the other talent were informed.
Nixon Newell reached out to Fightful and claimed that neither she nor Miranda Alize have ever met Bryan Danielson. She was adamant that she was respectful and there was never a bad word said about AEW from Nixon and Miranda.
"All false information. We have never met Bryan in person. As for the indie show, I have no idea what you’re talking about," Newell said.

Sean is not a spreader of rumors. Best case, IMO, these two made a far worse impression than they think. Or maybe they see themselves as being bigger names than some in the locker room. Regardless, best wishes in your future endeavors.
