DEBUNKATHON!: Ridge Holland Update, Jesse Ventura, National Title, So Manky DebunkBeds
Added 2025-11-07 21:19:05 +0000 UTCWelcome to the Friday Fightful tradition -- THE DEBUNKATHON. Today we have news updates on Ridge Holland, the National Title, and we're debunking a ton of stories on Jey Uso, Toni Storm, Rey Mysterio, CM Punk, Dakota Kai, John Cena and many more.
Lock in your yearlong subscription ahead of 2026, when we will be adding a ton of new content!
- Follow SRS on Facebook where he's steadily debunking news!
- Regarding Cody Rhodes telling the All The Smoke podcast that his next WWE contract will be his last -- he still has years remaining on his current deal.
- AEW confirmed our report that Blood & Guts is a 2.5 hour special.
- The event that FBI Director Kash Patel used a government jet to attend was Real American Freestyle. There were many people saying it was a pro wrestling event, which I guess technically it is, but not by the definition many consider.
- In regards to the AEW National Title, there are few details available regarding it. We're told that Dave Milican worked on it and it's a bit of a "throwback" title.
- There's been a lot of talk about the NWA National Title, the lineage, and AEW "disrespecting" the NWA by announcing theirs. NWA unified the National Title with the US Title in the 80s -- the same US Title that WWE still uses to this day. NWA only brought back the National title in 1997.
- Details around Ridge Holland's early termination are still filtering in, but WWE did confirm the news. Despite that they still have to provide his rehab. Ridge Holland is a free agent effective immediately, but we are looking into any possibly Andrade situations where unusual circumstances are tacked on. Talent that we spoke to were befuddled by the situation all around, from Ridge Holland needing help financially after years in WWE, to WWE letting him go while hurt, to them cutting him again. To be clear, Ridge Holland had about a week or two left on his WWE contract, when WWE terminated the deal early for breach. We're looking in to if they applied a non-compete as a "for cause."
Elsewhere
- Wrestling Observer reported that Will Ospreay wasn't returning in January, but has a specific target date in his rehabilitation for January.
- Wrestling Observer reported that Jesse Ventura's contract has expired. We're told there were a variety of reasons he wasn't used on Saturday Night's Main Event, including his critical commentary of the first show, and the fact that Hulk Hogan had originally been planned for an edition of the program.
DEBUNKATHON
- Fightful did not report that WWE were actively considering putting the WWE Title on John Cena.
- At this point, you should be reporting "One Stop Wrestling" for fake information. They're among the worst purveyors of misinformation on Facebook. They've lied and claimed that Matt Cardona is "expected to compete in the Last Time Is Now tournament." There's no information out there regarding that as of now. They also lied and claimed Jey Uso was open to leaving WWE after his deal. That hasn't even been broached.
- Sportskeeda referral program drivel: they don't actually know any reasons Jey Uso was not made the world champion.
- For some reason, many pages are repeating a claim that Vince McMahon had a 30 day defense rule for championships. I'm not sure where these people were for the last number of years of Vince's run, but no he didn't.
- No, Adam Copeland has never been considered for John Cena's retirement run. It hasn't been broached, it hasn't been brought up, and it isn't happening.
- No...Toni Storm and Marina Shafir are not married. Sportskeeda just really, really sucks man.
- No, Rey Mysterio is not John Cena's final opponent.
- For some reason Complex ran a kayfabe story today about CM Punk suffering a "devastating injury" at WWE Raw. It was just the Logan Paul angle.
- No, there have not been rumors about Dakota Kai joining AEW and teaming with Mercedes Mone. That's another "One Stop Wrestling" shitter. I beg of you, report their page.
- A reader asked us about rumors of Jey Uso being difficult to work with. That isn't anything we've ever really heard from talent.
Comments
Yeah according to Complex Logan finally turned heel and actually made contact with the brass knuckles and punk had tremendous facial injury and was carried to the back by Jey lol. Alot of “no this isn’t true” in this post. Some pages need to quit trying.
