Select Answers: Mercedes' Indie Bookings, Chris Jericho-AEW-WWE, Nyla Rose

Do you know of any logic behind selection of the indies where Mercedes is winning belts? Would love to know if she could face Marina in Defy for their belt

She could if they ended up paying her the rate she asks for. As best I know, they contact her management, wanting the exposure of her working on the show and winning their championship. Based on the companies I've had contact with, they know what they're doing, and it isn't a situation of Mercedes asking to win their championship. They're well aware that they're booking her to win it all on their own. The price is negotiated and then done. I saw some people surprised that she would charge $25,000, but I had people in AEW at the top of the card who told me they don't even leave their house for outside bookings less than $30,000.

Do you see AEW matching any offer Jericho may get from WWE?

They certainly could, but I'm not sure what there is left for Chris Jericho to do in AEW at the level that he could in WWE. In WWE, Chris Jericho in 16 months could do a surprise Royal Rumble appearance and WrestleMania program, as well as do crossover stuff with AAA and TNA that he's never done. His act is much more fresh to the WWE audience after so many years away, and WWE would pay him millions next year to reflect that. If you're looking to satisfy your Saudi relationship, he's also a big name to put on SaudiMania. The last couple of years of Chris Jericho on AEW TV was largely shoe horning him into stables -- we've already seen that!

Is there any word on why Nyla hasnt been used in AEW recently? I know you said she isnt injured

No word at all. I haven't heard of her brought up creatively, and she's not hurt. I'm not sure she even knows why she hasn't been used, which seems to be very common for people in AEW to just disappear for a year at a time. She's worked some indies.
